Could something be up at The Today Show?
The show has been hit with successive waves of bad news. First, falling ratings as Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer narrows the gap and even beats Today in some markets. Next, a series of articles painting Katie Couric as a self-centered prima donna at war with Matt Lauer and responsible for the axing of various show execs.
Katie missed a few shows last week, and granted, that's not unusual. The show explained she was "on assignment," and perhaps she was. But this morning, Katie was missing again, and this time there was no explanation, just Campbell Brown in her seat. For that matter, Ann Curry, Today's regular news reader, was also out, though in her case it was stated that she was "on assignment."
Could something be up? We'll be watching.
By the way, the final segment of the first half-hour focused on Joe Biden effectively throwing his hat into the ring over the weekend for the Democratic presidential nomination.
It's just my opinion, but given Biden's personal history, I'm not sure his announcement line was necessarily the best move: "I'm Joe Biden, and I'm reporting for duty." ;-)
Boden said, "I don't know how that is relevant. It happened four score and seven years ago!"
ROFLMAO
Not me.
I didn't know this tidbit about Chris Botti before I bought his CD....interesting.
"Jennifer, have you considered the possibility that your decision to run away reflected the pervading hopelessness in the country as a result of the disastrous policies of the Bush administration?"

He He He.. you sure made MY morning..!
Dear Lord, how much time do you need for an interview that consists of "I am terminally 13 years old, and I'm nuttier than a fruitcake with a brilliant imagination for porn plots?"
As my tagline suggests, that's why I'm here ;-)
Thanks, RK - I'll consider the thread a success if it can provoke a chuckle or two. Welcome to FR, and drop me a post or private message if you'd like to be added to my ping list for reports on liberal bias at The Today Show and occasionally at other media.
From your mouth to God's ear, buddy.
"trashy is not the adjective I'd use. ;^)"
Mr. SoVa bought me a pair of those, but I've never worn them outside of the....uh....house.
Laura Ingraham replace Katie Whatsername?I'll second that nomination.I've seen her(Laura)on TV a handfull of times, and she's always witty and articulte.Knowledge wise she could run rings around Katie, but of course in the world of the msm,it's form over substance, fluff over real news,....
Who cares about this bride story? The woman looks as nuts as she acts! Lock her up and let's move on.
I have to admit, that is intriguing. There was some speculation she was out in NM visiting an old boyfriend - wonder if that could be it. Anyhow, I'll be watching - and reporting!
Katie isn't going anywhere. June is a non-ratings month for the dinosaur networks. She's "on assignment" on a beach somewhere, more than likely.
You might as well add me to your ping list
I end up reading it almost everyday anyway!~!
"There is something seriously wrong with our culture.....the Runaway Bride gets $500k for her story, and Special Forces in Afghanistan get zero coverage."Your right. It's all part of the "dumbing down" of our society, courtesy of the msm.Feed the public fluff.
I thought Diane Sawyer had the Runaway Bride interview and Katie was not even considered.
Why fight it ;-) ? Welcome to the list.
Would you add me to your ping list so I don't have to hunt for it? Thanks
According to Shelly Winters' biography, Marilyn Monroe used that unprintable phrase to describe the strappy pumps. Seems she always wore them to the casting couch. If you notice, Dianne Sawyer wears them just as often. Maybe the ABC director doesn't have a foot fetish like the one at NBC.
