Could something be up at The Today Show?
The show has been hit with successive waves of bad news. First, falling ratings as Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer narrows the gap and even beats Today in some markets. Next, a series of articles painting Katie Couric as a self-centered prima donna at war with Matt Lauer and responsible for the axing of various show execs.
Katie missed a few shows last week, and granted, that's not unusual. The show explained she was "on assignment," and perhaps she was. But this morning, Katie was missing again, and this time there was no explanation, just Campbell Brown in her seat. For that matter, Ann Curry, Today's regular news reader, was also out, though in her case it was stated that she was "on assignment."
Could something be up? We'll be watching.
By the way, the final segment of the first half-hour focused on Joe Biden effectively throwing his hat into the ring over the weekend for the Democratic presidential nomination.
It's just my opinion, but given Biden's personal history, I'm not sure his announcement line was necessarily the best move: "I'm Joe Biden, and I'm reporting for duty." ;-)
OK, OK, stop piling on already. I did my mea culpa in #5!
Maybe she's having more cheek implants? Or storing up nuts for the winter?
Googled "candies shoes".
Oh how Right you are! What a sad commentary. Wilbanks is a great lesson for our kids: Tell a big lie, fake your kidnapping/sexual abuse, shoplift any time you want, get the whole country to worry about YOU (just for kicks)...and you only get a little "community service" sentance, but you do get to become famous and get a huge a reward!
Same with wackojacko. Has anyone heard if is he accepting Trump's offer to play LA for some ridiculous amount of money? Next will be his autobiography that will focus on how he was so wrongly criticized by - well, almost everyone except the other family wacko's who want his money, and a few nutso friends and frenzied friends. Has anyone ever heard anyone of "consequence" and good sense ever speak on behalf of, or be associated with him?
Our children have to search hard to find stories about the real heroes of the world. There is little hype about the amazing deeds of our brave soldiers, or efforts of scholars, or successes of entrepreneurs who struggled and became successful. All that is offered anymore are stories about misfits, psychos, oddballs, and criminals.

Hey GLGB you get no complaints from this pingee. I would never, never watch the Today show and depend excluseively on your ping to find out what's happening.
Keep on pinging and I for one could care less if you don't know where Katie is at every moment.
Thanks, Chuck. Guess it was a bit of wishful thinking on my part this morning. But one of these days . . .
Exactly.
I always liked the formulation of the VC citation... "For heroism and gallantry beyond that normally expected of a British officer..."
HEAR! HEAR!
This really is bottom-feeder stuff at this point, isn't it? I dont care what that idiot "runaway bride" is doing or why she deserves so much air time for her sophomoric behavior.
does it reall matter if she was there or not? Who cares anyway? She's just a member of that ILLUSTRIOUS (NOT) band of journalists who do anything to get their story. Why would anyone miss her?
The only good thing the runaway bride could say is that any money she makes off this hype will go to pay back the extra costs that law enforcement incurred, pay back the money her bridesmaids wasted on the wedding and return all the gifts, and pay back anyone else who has wasted time and money on her. Ms. Shoplifterette doesn't deserve a dime for her little antics. She really needs to disappear into the shadows and clean up her act. Oh, and that guy needs to dump her or he will have a lifetime of heartache.
Sincere thanks. As always, it's my [twisted] pleasure.
Old joke.
Back when Biden first came to the Senate someone asked him about the rumors that he plagiarized his college term papers.
Boden said, "I don't know how that is relevant. It happened four score and seven years ago!"
I can understand your viewpoint. Still, Katie Couric remains an icon of the MSM. If she goes down, I'd say it's significant - perhaps another part of the process of the liberal media understanding that it can't get away forever with blatant bias.
I think that they are working on other things as well.
