there has been a decided turn of emotions against the Americans this past week, or haven't you noticed...
I'm not interested in what the Arubans think of US, frankly.
She is a mother, searching for her child or answers to what happened to her child. People are not being forthcoming -- she has every right to go door to door in that country if she wants to.
I spent ONE DAY waiting to find out why my son died -- I can tell you it's hell on earth. I can't understand why she isn't mad as a hatter.
And, frankly, your criticism of her is out of line.
You cannot be for real.. . your comments about Natalee's mom are so over the edge...into the land of halucination!
You have no idea what it's like down there...This mom is one brave and heroic woman trying to find her child who has disappeared off the face of the earth...or at least get answers to what happened to her from the SOB snob punks that were with her last.
I don't really care if they Arubans are tired of it. I'm tired of them not doing their jobs properly and giving everyone some answers.
I have, an Greta Van Cistern is now portraying sympathy for the VDS family. I remember quite well with that game of death look from the attractive female aruban attorney the other night on Fox. NSNR
All I have heard is that the Aruban spokespersons, lawyers and journalists on TV are either afraid to talk or really believe that the problem is the US media and Twitty family and refuse to shine that same light on their own system. The Arubans OUGHT to be tired of this! Then they need to go and do something about it. Instead of blaming the Americans (who contribute substantially to their tourist-based economy) and the Twittys.
Frankly, I'm tired of countries and people around the world who trash America and our liberties and economy, yet keep their hand out for some that afore-mentioned liberty and wealth.
I admire Natalee's mom. The "cheeriness" you speak of, I think, just comes from being a gracious lady, in the true sense of the word lady. And I hope I could be as tenacious and hopeful as she, were I in the same dreadful situation.
BUT. She has been making a PR mistake, as you say, that could be making things worse: I think some of her statements, implying that a lot of Arubans know what happened to Natalee and just aren't being forthcoming, are bound to anger and alienate a lot of innocent and well-meaning people.
Such things were said in understandably frustrated and emotional moments. I give her further credit for recognizing that, and I think she's trying to back away from that kind of accusatory overreach.
