That is an excellent post.
He stated:
"...In what should have been a one or two day story where nothing new has been learned, except that the black men taken into custody initially have been released and no charges were conferred against them, the media is fixated on Natalee Holloway and Joran van der Sloot..."
He is right, it should have been a two day story - and if handled correctly by Arubian authorities it probably would have been!
I was thinking that Joran's mom might have insisted that the dad go talk to Natalee's mom at the gate. (?) I also noticed that when Natalee's mom was leaving, Joran's mom gave her a kiss on the cheek. I'm sure that both moms just want their kids safe and at home and are frustrated with the system.
I saw those two interviewed too. It was like they were coached, with their crisp answers.
I don;t know what to believe, but I was stunned when the one said Natalee went over and introduced herself to VDS.
WHY would VDS sneak out of his house on a "dull, no action, Sunday night" unless he had met her earlier?
The Arubans brought in a judge from outside of Aruba, BECAUSE their judge on Aruba hasn't the experience of this type of case to properly judge it.
Which is basically the same thing as moving a hearing or trial to a neighboring jurisdiction or calling in district attorneys from outside the jurisdiction for consultation or appointing a special prosecutor--something that is done quite often in the US. And that wasn't the only reason cited, either. Another reason was to avoid the appearance of partiality because of the suspect's father's affiliation w/ the Aruban courts. Bringing in an outside judge was a move to demonstrate impartiality.
Natalee's dad and stepmother ARE in Aruba. They have been interviewed but not often. They live in Mississippi.
I thought they reside in Alabama?
There is also a picture of the inside of my hotel room with Natalee Holloway's (search) mother. After we did our "surprise" visit to the home of the Dutch teen, we went back to my room to regroup. Natalee's mother is the one sitting on the floor in the picture. By the way, I admire Natalee's mother. She is one determined woman! Of course I meet many amazing people including people like Sharon Rocha (search) people who never wanted to be heroes or role models but who were thrust into that position by some ugly event.
Yesterday I planned on spending the day with Natalee's mother in order to figure out how she spends her days searching in this foreign country. We ended up spending 90 minutes in the home of the Dutch teen with his parents so I did not get the chance to spend the day searching.
Today the plan is to spend the day with Natalee's mother... let's see if the plan is carried out. I am to meet her at 9 a.m. at her hotel (incidentally, she is staying in the same room Natalee was staying in when she vanished.) As an aside, I hope to blog more details about the meeting with Natalee's mother and the Dutch teen's parents in the near future.
I have not been posting but I have been paying a little attention to Natalee's disappearance. My question from the beginning has been, Why would they hide a body on a small island when they could take it out to sea and dump it? I doubt that the girl will ever be found. Unless one of the boys cracks and talks, it is over.
Same thoughts I had.
The darkhaired girl is the one that was in an interview in AL, right after NH came up missing, and that darkhaired girl, acted so gleeful during the whole interview.
I was shocked!
One of her classmates is missing and she's acting gleeful!? She seemed pleased to be on tv! Not a bit upset her friend is missing.
Matter of fact, this girl is shown in many group photos w/NH.
All true from his perspective, he did arrange to meet you ...
I think it was Rush today who came out with this: "Do you know that van der Sloot translates as Kennedy in Dutch?"
Natalee's real dad and stepmother reside in Mississippi.
Natalee's real mom and stepdad reside in Alabama.
Thanks, tbb. This is a very strange case. Apparently because Aruba Justice seems nonexistent.
You are right, Ditter. All three boys have lived on the island for many years. They surely knew where the sharks congregate. And they had enough money and connections to get a boat in the wee hours of the morning.
The good thing is--the more accomplices they had, the better the chance of someone cracking and telling the truth about that night.
I think Steve Croese is the weak link, and he will break and tell the Aruban police what they need to know. The game should be all over for Joran and the Kalpoes by this weekend.
Totally agree. That first interview left me dazed too, but then I thought "well, she's young and hasn;t yet realized the gravity of Natalee's disappearance" but that interview last night has left me rather upset: " Natalee sought him out in the casino and introduced herself?"
Where in Mississippi I wonder? Maybe near the MS/AL border?
They need to believe their lives are over unless they tell the truth.
Your theory is the simplest, and makes the most sense. Many LEA would agree with you.
