I think he was referring to Bush going down in flames (legacy), not the nominee. It would be the end of the republican party.

Let's face it. We're on the plantation, and the Republicans have us the exact same place that the Democrats have the Blacks. The only difference is that we would be happy to have the Black conservatives join us, and the Democrats have no interest in the religious right joining them.
