Let's face it. We're on the plantation, and the Republicans have us the exact same place that the Democrats have the Blacks. The only difference is that we would be happy to have the Black conservatives join us, and the Democrats have no interest in the religious right joining them.
There is a difference, with the blacks it's been forty years of failed programs and bribed leaders. With the right to life people, we'll know this next nomination and know for sure the one after that. They will get a response in 2006.

If the GOP goes liberal, and Hillary wins, we get a chance to take the white house back in 4 years.
If the GOP is so liberal as to allow Gonzalez on the USSC, conservatives will never again be elected to anything, and 10 years hence, the GOP will look like Ted Kennedy's party, and the Demonrats will be openly totalitarian.
