"Those poor criminals." This kind of lament sounds a little bit too much like ACLU whining. Let's worry about the victims of crime before getting too caught-up in how the perpetrators are treated.

Let's worry about the victims of crime before getting too caught-up in how the perpetrators are treated.

The point is that the police are not the ones who find the 'perps' guilty - the jury or judge does that. There are some bad apples in the Chicago police department.

A Chairwoman of a board in the Chicago area said (in her horrid, eastern, nasal tone) a few years ago that a rat there was "reading too many comic books." Police were illegally having people's cars towed in a scam where those people had to pay about $3000 dollars to get their cars out of the pound. She was certain that she would never be caught. She and her friends were involved in crime throughout several states.

But she and many of her friends in several states went down. And although the process took a few years, it was their meanness and vanity that made it easy. Officious criminals in various organizations for the interests of municipalities are a good source of leads.
