Per Fox News...
good find.
Unlike most here on FR... I still watch The O'Reilly Factor.
LOL, O'Reilly has misspoke so many times about this case it is not funny. He does not like to report on these types of cases and it shows like a sore thumb.
See... many here on FR discount O'Reilly. But one thing about him is for sure... he won't report something until he's firm on it.
glad you are out there ;)
You're kidding, right? Why would they do that?
Every picture my son has ever had taken of him has the 'lazy eye' look to it. You don't notice it at all but it appears in pictures.
I think the white slavery is a very strong possibility. If no body is found, then either the middle east or Asia is a likely candidate for the location.
Not sure how they would have transported her or even if she has been transported off the island, but as I understand Natalee is not the first to come up missing around that area.
And to think about it the Aruba LE and higher ups attitudes gives off the vibes that they are not that concerned. They are more concerned about their tourism business.
~snip~ Fox reporter Rick Leventhal is also reporting that some of the statements have been retracted, but noted that the spokesman had "twice" told a Fox producer that the government had confirmed Natalee Halloway's death.
The story doesn't actually give the producer's name however, in his on-air report it was Craig Rivera.
Still though... with all the conflicting stories coming out about this case... who knows if what O'Reilly thought he got was really accurate though...
But, you can't tell danger from someone's looks, necessarily. Girls, and women, should never, never get in a car with people they do not know, period, unless the circumstances make taking such a chance absolutely necessary to escape some other, imminent danger. Once you are in a car with a stranger, worse, several strangers, you are largely in his, or their, control.
I am 54, soon to be 55, and I have never gotten into a car with a strange man and never would. Somehow I managed to live this long without doing that. Those who say they have done so and have escaped harm still took a chance they should never have taken. I simply cannot imagine anyone questionning that rule, yet many on this board are. No one is blaming the girl for doing this, but it is like playing Russian roulette. Prostitutes are frequent crime victims, often suffering dreadful torture and/or death mostly because their job description calls for getting into cars with strange men.
To the poster who suggests that we who urge commensense self-protection believe we are somehow "perfect," it is you who are being self-righteous. I am simply a Christian and a sinner, far less than perfect, as I am sure you know, anyway, but I walked away from several potentially dangerous situations when I was a teenager, and it was not from being perfect, it was from simple self-preservation.
I am terribly sorry for this poor girl and her family. I have two daughters, myself. The perpetrators, alone, are to blame, certainly. But getting into a car with strangers, especially multiple male strangers is playing with fire (This assumes the young lady did this voluntarily which of course we do not know, for certain, but it seems from some eyewitnesses that she did). Many kids who play with matches never manage to burn down the house, either, but it's still a lousy idea, and we still try to keep them from doing it.
Sad, but you have a good point.
It would be nice to have one of the students or chaperones join FR to share some of their thoughts about all this.
Even if her blood is in his car, it depends on much was found. He may have knocked her out by hitting her causing her nose or head to slightly bleed.
The first reports were she was seen with a well known local drug dealer outside the bar. It might be that she was a pay off for drugs that he got in advance or that he had never paid for.
On another note I still believe that one or both of the 2 brothers that were with Joran are talking to police, they may have seen him kill her but after that they may have told him he was on his own, they may have walked away from the scene leaving him with her remains and they may not know what he did with her remains. I truly believe police were searching specific areas last night and today looking for her due to what they have learn from the 2 brothers. The problem is Joran is not talking, so they are going on what the 2 brothers are saying and maybe the brothers are guessing at where Joran may have stashed her body. I think the 6th person who was arrested this morning is part of it and this person may have help Joran stash her body or he help Joran in some way. Joran's best friend was in his pictures and he had dirty blond shoulder length hair and was in his early 20's. (the person they picked up this morning was in his early 20's). He also had a site like Joran and Satish.
Be sure and ping me when you find out O'Reilly had his information wrong. Regardless of what he has said, he has had to come back and admit that he has misspoken.
After all BOR is human and prone to err.
The problem is there is just too many conflicting facts being reported right now.
If the prime minister is concerned about the income we provide because of tourism, he better get his act together right now.
Apparently, so is every other news outlet today that her body had been found and that they had a confession.
Well said.
