It would appear that the only way we are going to get to the bottom of this case is to hit them in the pocketbook. The FBI doesn't seem to be pressing the issue.
The Marriott information is new, I believe. I don't know what that is all about or the reason for going there. Maybe someone mixed up the names of the hotels?

I don't think the hotel names are mixed up.
Depak supposedly told this security guard while the two were in the same jail that the story of dropping Natalee back at her hotel was made up, as well as the part about seeing a black security guard helping her. He supposedly said that instead of that, he and his brother had let Joran and Natalee off at the Marriott and had driven away. I got the impression the idea was that he let them off in the vicinity of the Marriott, not necessarily that the Marriott was their exact destination. But I do not know.
Perhaps they were going to get a room at the Marriott? Perhaps they did get one and that is where "something bad happened"? Or it was just a landmark in the vicinity by which he could identify where he let them out...
But this is what the security guard who was let out of jail first said he got Depak to admit to him while in jail.
Who knows at this point?
Anything coming from the Aruban authorites,politicos and news media should never be taken at face value. The next thing will be that the three perps are the real victims. (Aruban Politico Logic) This whole incident would not have occurred, if that American girl would have stayed home. Three of our best and brightest are sitting in jail cells like a criminals.This is a sad, sad day in Aruba.
This investigation has been "F'd Up" since the beginning. The FBI is limited in what they can do and probably have offered some damn good investigative advice. However, if one choooses not to solve a crime it will go unsolved. They should have imponded all those cars in the beginning, not 10-11 days later.

Pretty clever, NSNR. But all I am quoting is what the first released security guard said about what he got one of Joran's two friends to admit to him while they were in the same jail. Not quoting any officials or anything. Agree with you that all of their pronouncements seem to come with a "grain of salt" attached.
I checked out the Marriott hotels in Aruba and guess what there are FOUR of them - 3 in the Palm Beach area that the Holiday Inn is in! Only adds to the confusion.
Must admit this info did come from a blog, however. I believe it is a blogger in Aruba, which we were linked to by brigette. They did have the correct info that the guards were being released, seemingly before anyone else had it. At least I think so...

Good Morning, If the FBI had jurisdiction this case would have been solved. However, when we don't have jurisdiction and our advice is being blown off. I have been in similiar situations with host government law enforcement authorities. They will conduct their investigations either to line their pockets or resolve the investigation in favor of their government or people.
If we could obtain permission from the Dutch government to assume on this investigation, we would see positive progress. Presently we have an (intended) bumbling fiasco before our eyes. Have the Aruban&Dutch Politicos/Authorities have no shame? A reasonable and prudent person would assume.(NO) NSNR

All 3 of the Marriott resorts at Palm Beach are located on L. G. Smith Boulevard. Pretty much right next to each other at addresses 99, 101, 103. The one with the casino is the middle hotel.

Right, that is what I said at 1,444. The vehicle belonged to the brothers.
Look at the hotel map posted above. It's the same general vicinity as the Holiday Inn.
There is a good chance the reason we are hearing about this is because LE knows that they didn't show up on the Holiday Inn security camera dropping her off and probably told the brothers, so they had to admit to the lie.

Catherine Herridge just reported on FOX that the FBI is saying
that so far they have only been permitted to have a limited role in the investigation.
The first change of story I heard was that the brothers dropped Natalee and Joran off at the beach.
The latest is that they dropped them off at the Marriott?
So in either case, how did Joran and Natalee think they were each going to get a ride back to their respective domiciles that night?
And what did the brothers say about that?
