Mark for later
I don't think it is incompetence at all.
I think it is very cold, calculating spin.....waiting for public outrage to die down so that the whole thing can be covered up and swept under the rug to protect the judge's son.
I happen to think that the original statements by the police chiefs or sheriffs, whoever they were, were accurate statements. The higher ups had to "reel them in" and retract the statements.
I believe that there was a confession. I believe that someone was going to lead them to the body and for all we know they already have the body. I believe all of that fell through to protect the judge's son. In other words, a giant coverup.
Thanks, Andy'smom!
You're welcome. I hope this is solved today. I know we all do.
Possibly the hate America crowd? I would not doubt it for a minute. They are in Nominal Positions, and could care less about solving this cime. The moral to this fiasco is termed,"TCA." (Taking care of Aruba) It is apparent, "American Blood" comes cheap to them.NSNR
I think it's more like "protect your own" than "hate America". Aruba is a Dutch colony, so that's who holds the cards.
Oh I am sure they want it solved, but where it not both impact on their tourism industry and their well to do families (three punks).NSNR
We all do but dont expect it. Ever. Most likely, this case will be RESOLVED. I dont think we will ever find Natalee. I dont think anyone will be convicted , not in the sense they are convicted here. And I dont expect that anyone will ever truly pay for this crime. Ask the Bradleys about their daughter Amy who disappeared off of a cruise ship 7 years ago. They are still waiting for justice. Euro/Dutch justice is not American justice. What they want is for this to go away so they can all get back to business.
The phrase actually would be, "He ain't got dick."& He Don't know dick." I appreciate your response and it is positive. Thank you. NSNR
So possibly competence wanting, to be viewed as incompetence. Yes, I had the same feeling on those statements that were retracted earlier. This whole concept of the Aruban authorites is giving new meaning to the phrase, "Protect&Save Their Own."
This concept does not apply, if you are a security guard on the lower social economic scale. Maybe the thought or idea here by the Arub politicos is, frustrate them long enough and they will go away. You may have a valid point concerning this Aruban Circus. NSNR
Do you really think the Dutch care for America? I am not trying to be sarcastic, but America is not really liked by many of these countries today.
They do love those billions of our tax dollars, that line their pockets.(America our Friend) This is forgotten when the money is used up. Foreign aid cost all of us and more then likely will never be repaid. " A Friend(foreign country)in need, is a Friend Indeed." NSNR
Thank you for the pings... I will be on late tonight to catch up with what is going on. (keep pinging me please, as it will busy around here this week and I will not have time for much TV or internet)
Done!!
Do you think authorities are keeping the first two guys to help protect them? If they were released could it somehow compromise the investigation? Could them talking to reporters reveal aspects that authorities do not want revealed yet?
Can do. NSNR
Of these two stories, the more believable is Joran's. If Natalee and Joran were dropped off at the beach, we must believe that this 17 year old in the middle of the night murdered her there with no weapons, disposed of her body with no tools, then walked back home. This disposal was so effective that it has eluded the determined efforts of many searchers for two weeks. Not very likely.
That the body hasn't been found means that Natalee was transported elsewhere and murdered where disposal was convenient, or that the body was transported to its disposal site. Either requires a car, which implicates the car's owners.
So, either the brothers were involved with Jaron, or without Jaron, but the brothers had to be involved, they had the keys.
If they want to play euro/franco games i think we should give them a taste of an american boycott. Screw them. This isn't the first time they've turned their backs when Americans have "been disappeared" on their "sleepy" little island.
I think the beach is the key. The beach is the place where a man can feel he's the only soul in the world that's real. The beach cleans up after itself. If it was the area where they feed the sharks and the tide was right...
Transporting the body would have been quite a problem. Even feeding the sharks I'm surprised remnants of clothing haven't turned up. Or is it known what she was wearing? (I realize that's a stupid question, just pointing out they don't tell us much up here in the States.)
UNCONFIRMED

Unconfirmed but from regular reader Mimi. Consider the source, even if true. Looks like two against one scenario could be playing out.
TOP95 FM (Aruban radio station) reported on Monday that they have received information about the story that the suspect Joran van der Sloot gave to the police. The radio station got this information from the attorney that is representing the suspect Abraham Jones. Jones is being held at the same location as Joran and he has been hearing/getting information from within the institute. According to the attorney ,Jones declared that Joran is convinced that he is being framed. Joran is saying that he did not go to the lighthouse with the group at all. He testified that after he left the club, he caught a ride home with his Surinamese friends, the brothers Kalpoe. At that time Natalee Holloway was in the car. Joran allegedly testified that the Kalpoes dropped him off at his home and drove off with Natalee in car. It was only afterwards (a few days later), around the swimming pool at his house, that the Kalpoes made plans to come out with one version of the events. But now it seems that they are trying to frame Joran. The attorney also told the radio station that his client has been hearing Joran van der Sloot sobbing a lot lately.
