Yeah, I believe the accounts of O'Neil and the other SBVT in Unfit entirely. I think it's been proved that Kerry lied about his activities, and had lied to get his Purple Heart(s) and other commendations.

That is the worst thing about the Kranish piece as well as the BG editorial. That they try to make out that these records released through the form 180 exonerate him and prove his version of events. That is total BS, and you can bet your bottom dollar if any records surfaced that did do that in any way, they'd be on the BG's front page.

I'm disagreeing with the emphasis that has been placed here on the discharge controversy. I don't think there has ever been any credible evidence that there was a dishonorable discharge. And by concentrating on that, the other stuff gets short shrift. And it make the accusers seem a little crazy.

The pressure should be kept on Kerry to do a release via the form 180--and the third option--where he could put in that he wants ALL of his records released. Then, in the place where you put whom they're to be released to, Kerry should put in--for anybody who asks for them.

That way people like you and me or O'Neil could file a FOIA and get copies of all of the records they have in St. Louis on him. But even so, I don't think there are any smoking guns. Unless there are some after action reports that prove Kerry lied about how things went down.

But constantly talking about a coverup about a dishonorable discharge is counter-productive. And makes the everybody look like whackjobs, because it is so out there. It just gives Kerry and company an excuse. "You can never please people like that," etc.
