I can't hate the Spurs. I'd like them and root for them if they wern't playing us. They actually remind me a bit of the Pistons - except that they have Tim Duncan.

It's not like the Bad Boys vs the Celtics or Bulls. I still don't like Michael Jordan.

Tim Duncan's a superstar. We don't have any real superstars on our team. Ben Wallace is the closest to one.

The Spurs also win with strong team Defense, same way we do. There aren't any character problems with either of the teams. They aren't favorites of the coast crowd either. (Knicks, Lakers, Bulls, Miami, Shaq, Kobe, etc)

Although games like tonight is where I miss Bill Laimbeer, Rick Mahorn, Isiah Thomas, Dennis Rodman, and Joe Dumars(on the floor). :)

Dennis Rodman???? he is to busy cross-dressing right now.

When he played with the Spurs, although he was good San Antonio just didn't accept his antics and the team with David Robinson the leader of course it was a mix-match. We got to the point we just wanted him to leave despite what he did on the court.

Tim is awesome, have you ever heard his BIO. unbelievable how he got started in basketball so late in life, just like David Robinson.

And Bowen, what a tragic young life he lived and overcame. WOW. I never knew that about him.

I should have said Dennis Rodman circa 1989.

We got to the point we just wanted him to leave despite what he did on the court.

That was the case here too. I forgot we traded him to you for Sean Elliot. Elliot was good, but couldn't fit in with us(granted we were rock bottom then). It was still a good trade for us, since Rodman disrupted the place.

Rodman was somewhat sane with us back when Chuck Daly was coaching. Daly could do what no other coach could ever do - control him.

I knew Duncan was from St Croix and was a star at Wake Forest, but didn't know he was a swimmer till Hugo. I missed Bowen's bio, but I knew he made the NBA the hard way.

Sometimes I'm really amazed how the Spurs have consistently been able to put together core's of players that are essentially "good guys" - I really think that's why the press doesn't give them the credit due them - the press seems to think that all basketball players have to be THUGS.

When David Robinson retired I was concerned we'd end up like the rest of the teams. But I guess I didn't give Pop enough credt.. laugh.. he seems to be able to find players that really have a sense of ethics.. (save the Rodman fiasco). But even as I see Rodman - he's a REAL goofball - but he never struck me as thuggish... I met him once when he was here - he was really quite nice. Not at ALL like his on court persona...
