Top Nashville Radio Talk Show Host Organizes Anti-Illegal Alien Rally
Nashville radio talk show host, Phil Valentine, is spearheading a rally to call attention to the problem of illegal immigration. Demagnetize Tennessee: Stop Illegal Immigration Now, scheduled for Thursday June 9, 2005 from 6PM-8PM at the Band shell at Centennial Park, will focus on what the state can do to stop illegals from coming to Tennessee.
"This country was built on legal immigration," Valentine stated. "I'm in complete support of those who subject themselves to the process and come here to assimilate and contribute. However, we cannot and should not tolerate illegal immigration that exposes us to criminals, disease, and terrorists, all which are destructive to our great nation."
Valentine, who hosts Nashville's most listened to talk show, said he's become frustrated with our federal government. "I don't think the feds are going to do anything about the problem of illegal aliens any time soon," Valentine stated "We have created a magnet with free benefits like healthcare, food stamps and free education, not to mention the countless employers who willingly hire illegals." Valentine noted that many people consider illegals an asset. "They obviously aren't looking at the big picture," he added. "Even when you factor in how much illegals pay in taxes, a Rice University study estimates a net cost to the American taxpayer of more than $20 billion each year. $20 billion! Something has to be done and we're going to exhibit the frustration of the public on June 9. Just like the state income tax, it's going to take the citizens of Tennessee showing up in person to illustrate how serious they are about this issue."
Valentine acknowledged that virtually nothing has been done in Tennessee to combat the problem of illegal aliens. "Our general assembly exacerbated the problem in 2001 when it passed that ludicrous illegal aliens driver's license bill. Now we have to deal with the repercussions. It's time we started to undo the damage that's been done. I know we can't solve this problem for the entire country. What we can do is start a brush fire in Tennessee. If the illegals run to another state, perhaps that will prompt that state to pass common sense legislation of its own."
Guess that makes two of us. My biological mother was a legal Hispanic immigrant. My father was an anglo who took to his heels when he found she was pregnant. She gave me up for adoption - and my real parents - the ones who gave me the Irish last name - are 100% Anglo. Census doesn't consider me as Hispanic though - because I have an Anglo last name. At least, that's what they told me the last time I went through their little interview.
Middle Tennesse is so beautiful.Center Hill lake is a great place to boat and fish.
Haven't been to that one. I just moved from Nashville's own "Little Mexico" (Nolensville Rd.) to a nice place right next to Percy Priest Lake/Reservoir. No more sirens, crime, awful music and brown racists who hate me on sight. My blood pressure's gone way down (no longer dependent on medication!).
In case anyone's interested, I'm transcribing Michael Leon's speech from a little memo-recorder. I'll ping you and the others who've commented here just as soon as I get it posted.
Wardaddy was correct - the usual anti-American circus was nowhere about so the event went off without a hitch. There were somewhere between 400 to 500 citizens in attendance.
"I had no idea illegal immigration was such a problem in Tennessee. I am planning to move to Nashville area in the next year or so -- but maybe I'd better rethink it."
In my Fathers neighborhood over the span of five years it's become swamped with illegals. The old folks die, people buy the houses and move a mob of illegals in. Nobody cares, the state and local law enforcement "can't" do anything, our elected representatives sit in huddles thinking up ways to help these parasites to the detriment of their constituents. We have been occupied and most people are so busy trying to support their families they don't pay attention.
" the ones who gave me the Irish last name - are 100% Anglo"
They're not Anglos, they're Celts.
Well, to be perfectly honest, they're American - just like me :)
Their lack of a better argument in the arena of ideas is to deflect, call us names and if all else fails, fall back to the "R" word...RACIST! It appears they know a lot about the subject since they often practice it.
This discussion is not about race and those who think it so, both on our side and those of our opponents are wrong. For those who say they are on our side of the revolution, who think it's about race, you might as well cross over the to the other side of the fence and due battle with our opponents since you both think a like. For we don't want you nor need you! There are Trojan horses within our ranks, both on the left and the right of this discussion and I'm going to make it my job within the Minuteman organization to expose those who seek to exploit this issue. The issue is stopping illegal immigration...period! Whether on the border and or enforcing the laws on the books concerning the hiring of illegals, that's the focus of the discussion.
Allons! (Lets go)

Pleasure to have you here sir.
It was great of you to come to our little rally here in Nashville.
You spoke well and were the obvious crowd favorite.
The crowd was pretty good I though. I had feared a smaller turnout.
It seems folks are waking up to this issue. If only our elected leaders would listen.
Nashville is a great place to live. I've been here 15 years.
But, as with every other place you'll ever live, there are parts of town you DON'T want to live in. Ask around.
Please read post 31. I meant to post it in reply to your post. Don't know what happened.

My peeps have been living in Nashville since 1795. I was born there in 1950 and pretty much know where you don't want to live. The trouble is our uninvited guests are making more places into places you don't want to live.
"Well, to be perfectly honest, they're American - just like me :)"
There you go.
The media is definitely not on our side.
They are much more concerned with finding any flaw in the MMP than they are the problem.
Thanks so much for your efforts.
Good for you for attending, wardaddy!
>>I'm not scared to do battle, I led a squadron of 11th Cav choppers into 3 of the last 4 deployments since 1983, I have faced my opponents and quickly dispatched them without shedding a tear. But you must know when and how, and not let your emotions over take you.<<
Courage is when only you know you are scared and you fight instead of surrending.
Different types of people can be united for a cause, so you can have unity and diversity at the same time. You can't have unity AND division, which is probably what you were thinking.
