CBC Television News Guilty of Anti-American Bias Says New Study

Calgary, AB - The CBC’s television news coverage of the United States is consistently marked by emotional criticism, rather than a rational consideration of US policy based on Canadian national interests, according to The Canadian released today by The Fraser Institute.

This anti-American bias at the CBC is the consequence of a “garrison mentality” that has systematically informed the broadcaster’s coverage of the US. Garrison mentality was a term coined by Canadian literary critic, Northrop Frye. He used it to describe a uniquely Canadian tendency reflected in our early literature, a tendency, as he put it, to “huddle together, stiffening our meager cultural defenses and projecting all our hostilities outward.”

So this is what the Liberal funded CBC does with 30% of my paycheck in the name of "Canadian Culture"...

Say, do they allow you fellows to have satellite dishes up there these days. I think they were against the law for a while, ala Sadam's Iraq.

AFTER, Al Jazeera had been up and running for about a year, Rogers cable finally allowed Fox News to broadcast (only on news package stations of course for extra $ from subscribers).

Fox News has been the saving of me. I can't watch any of the other crap. The only exception is Nancy Grace on Headline news, bless her big heart and hair. We pop popcorn for her!

This is cut and paste from the CBC announcement of Fox coming to Canada dated November 18, 2004...note the last paragraph...

"The CRTC rejected a CCTA application to bring Fox to Canada last November because Fox News U.S. and Winnipeg-based Global Television were planning to create Fox News Canada, a combination of U.S. and Canadian news.

However, in March, a Fox U.S. executive said there were no plans to create the combined channel.

The CRTC was thrust into the spotlight in July after giving conditional approval to the digital broadcast of Arab television station al-Jazeera."

See, I wasn't kidding.

They could not be more right and are probably being
easy on the CBC.
I watch the CBC sometimes and they are truly anti american.
The CBC follows the same executable code that the federal
Liberal gov't does.....and that is this....
Unless you are french, a visible minority or gay.....we don't really care about saying anything positive about you or giving you respect, job security, handouts or a security blanket.....oops....I forgot about Refugees!!!
I am going to give some money to support the fraser
institute.
Fifty bucks the CBC don't mention this on their news
tonight....If they do it would impress me and I doubt
that will happen.
