If the busts were made from reconstructions of the mummy itself, what is the problem? I doubt that the scientists who did the reconstructions hung a sign on the statues that said, "King Tut wasn't negroid, he was a causcasoid."

King Tut's relatives asked that the boy king be portrayed as white - that is all.

Well, of course Tut wasn't white. Probably more of a nice medium ecru... ;-)

He most certainly has a caucasian nose. It is not negroid, nor is it arabic. One must presume that since this mask was made contemporaneously with the living king, that it must be correct.

One cannot come to any other conclusion.

"There is no evidence that King Tut was white," Compton City Attorney Legrand Clegg told the board.

Several painted funerary busts were discovered with the boy king. He most certainly ain't black.

"Egypt is on the continent of Africa."

And north Africa is home to a mostly Semitic people, including Arabs. Blacks are mostly from Sub-Saharan Africa.

What an IDIOT!!! This guy

is from the continent of Africa -- and he's definitely Caucasoid. King Tut, dating from the 17th century BC (?) would definitely be having a lot of Semitic blood -- he wouldn't be white, but he wouldn't be black either -- he would be brown.

So were Carthage, Rhodesia and South Africa and they had a ?LOT of white people running the shows there.

This report doesn't explain very much. Is the objection that the busts were in white plaster and unpainted? Were the busts painted to look white skinned? Is it a matter of the features? What exactly is the objection? In Egyptian paintings on tomb walls and monuments, the ancient Egyptians seemed to make a clear color and feature distinction between themselves and black skinned "negroid" Africans, and other groups they enslaved.

This should end this argument. Following are items from King Tut's tomb. The first is a bust of Tutankhamun:

The second is a close up of Tut's footstool, showing Asiatic and African captives:

Verdict: this guy's a bozo.

These are the same baffoons who claim that Cleopatra, an ethnic Greek, was black too.

African-American activists criticized the Board of Supervisors Tuesday for allowing a King Tut exhibition at the county Museum of Art, saying that renderings of the boy king as white are inaccurate.

Maybe he went to Michael Jackson's dematologist.
