Has everyone forgotten that this is D-Day

I can understand why CBS, NBC, ABC and PBS and other liberal networks are not mentioning anything about D-Day, and the 60th Anniversary of that dreadful, yet necessary sacrifice. I can understand why the liberal newpapers won't have articles about this milestone of liberty. I can understand why the magazines don't spotlight the good of Americas past.
They are too busy with their seditious and unpatriotic propaganda.
BUT WHY IS THERE NOTHING MUCH ABOUT D-DAY, HERE AT FREE REPUBLIC???
HERE IS TODAY'S ENTRY AT MY BLOGSITE
Guarding Freedoms Nest
If you constantly talk about America as if America is to blame for this and that in this world,
You Are Not Guarding Freedoms Nest.
If you constantly criticize the best efforts of our leaders,
You Are Not Guarding Freedoms Nest.
If you think only in terms of Whats in it for me?
You Are Not Guarding Freedoms Nest.
If you see someone without freedom and do nothing,
You Are Not Guarding Freedoms Nest.
If you see an American soldier, sailor or pilot, and dont salute them in your heart,
You Are Not Guarding Freedoms Nest.
Real Freedom, like the world had never tasted before, was born in the nest of America. When the world saw what freedom can be, the world wanted the same. Many countries paid the price to obtain freedom, and they always knew America would help them, even to the spilling of blood, to defeat those that hate freedom.
So, yes, I am proud of America, and proud of Americas friends in this world.
Dont let the Traitors and Bigots convince you that America is Evil, or its leaders all liars and corrupt. When those traitors suggest that America could learn something about freedom from France and Germany, I laugh. The little those two countries know about freedom, they learned from the victorious soldiers from Great England, Canada, Australia, America and other allied nations, that liberated their countries from tyranny. I have noticed very little gratitude from those two countries and really dont think we should ever help them again, if they throw away their freedom. Not sour grapes

D-Day was June 6, 1944. Sixty-one years later, a big BRAVO to the brave Americans who fought against and defeated the Nazis.

It was negligent of us, but why not give it a positive twist instead, emphasizing the heroism of those who fought?
My uncle, whom I remember visiting us once when I was a little boy, fought in the Pacific, so he missed D-Day. But he was transferred to the European Theater and died at the Battle of Hertgen Forest. I have his purple heart upstairs.

Yes the 82nd and 101st took some of the heat off of the soldiers involved with the channel approach. Yes those brave men who jumped out of airplanes, behind the coastal fortifications, forced the Germans to fight on many fronts, saving many soldiers who invaded by sea. We cring to read the casuality reports, thousands dead, tens of thousands wounded, all in the first 24 hours. Never a day like it. Hopefully there will never be anything as dreadful, yet necessary.

I don't think anyone has forgotten. Freepers remember with a sense of honor and deep respect.
MSM worms remember, and do nothing. (Honor the military? Do they even know how?)

I was leaving that to the many who know more about that than I do. I am thinking positive, just a little peeved that the old media ignores this day. It is a much hated holiday to the libs. Oopphhs, it isn't a holiday anymore, the libs had that thrown out years ago. Go ahead Cicero and tell some of the positive things. I am a little teed off...excuse me for being so negative.
I will watch 'Saving Private Rynn" this evening, and say a prayer for all those in Iraq right now.
God Bless America
