Puzzling why you felt you had to attach treason to Robert E Lee's name on this thread.

I honestly have nothing against Lee. He was a remarkable leader with an amazing military mind.

That being said, I don't want to see him on a list of "Greatest Americans." When it all comes down to it, he committed treason.

He no more should be on that list than George Washington should be on a list of "Greatest Brits."

And Robert E Lee should have never been charged with treason. You do know that he was never brought to trial on that charge/prosecuted by the government?
