And it did not even get hit by a plane.
PBS had an interview with LARRY SILVERSTEIN (The World Trade Center was leased by Westfield America and Larry Silverstein, on April 26th, 2001)where he was quoted as saying : "I remember getting a call from the fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, "We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it (WTC7)." And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse."
That building was brought down by a controlled demolition.
No way a controlled demolition could've been set up on the fly that afternoon. It's just not possible.
The "pull" comment referred to pulling the firefighters out (and I don't think you quoted it exactly).
The original goal of the 1993 WTC bombers was to topple the buildings over onto surrounding buildings.
This was brought to my attention on a tour bus 9/2/2001 as I rode by the WTC.
When we left the bus at one point to shoot (distant) photos of the Statue of Liberty a passenger (all red blooded Americans going on a baseball tour) asked another, "It's the World Trade Center, aren't you going to take a picture". The other responded, "they'll all just look like tall buildings when I get home".
No point to the conspiracy (then again little needs to be done to denounce them), just offering it up in the sense of full disclosure.

In “The Bride of Frankenstein,” Dr. Frankenstein stands by a big lever and announces “If I pull this lever, this entire tower will come crashing down!” I always used to think, “Then what the hell did you put that lever there for?!?!”
Of course, posts like yours have since informed me that a “building collapse” lever is just a normal part of tower construction.
I guess they come in handy in the lack of an emergency.
NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) research supports the theory that WTC 7 was far more compromised by falling debris than the FEMA report indicated. Physical damage to the south face of WTC 7 consisted of about a third of the face, to the center and to the bottom, -approximately 10 floors,- or about 25% of the depth of the building was scooped out. NIST investigators believe a combination of intense fire and severe structural damage contributed to the collapse, suggesting the fall of WTC 7 is an example of "progressive collapse", a process in which the failure of parts of a structure ultimately creates strains that cause the entire building to come down. Videos of the fall of WTC 7 show cracks, or "kinks," in the building's facade just before the two penthouses disapeared into the structure, one after the other. The entire building fell in on itself, with the slumping east side of the structure pulling down the west side in a diagonal collapse.
Doesn't sound as good as "It's all Bush's fault", does it....
