I agree. I listen carefully to what is being said by those in government, as do most others here, and I have not heard one single reason why what is being done, or not being done, is a good idea. I don't buy the "doing the jobs that Americans (even blacks per Vicente Fox) won't do. I would like a list of those jobs.
From what I can see all around me, "those jobs" appear to be working in a restaurant, working in construction, picking fruits & vegetables, working in food processing factories, cleaning offices & homes, driving cabs, etc.
My business is in a low-income area of town, we need to hire people from time to time for labor. We've tried to hire locally (in the demographically distressed area we are in), but no one will even apply for the job! Most of the able-bodied adults around me don't need to work, they're almost all getting some form of welfare, SSI, disability, etc. They make more money staying home.
Actually $24 an hour construction jobs are out there begging and are being filled up by a hard working hispanic workforce.
