Picture?

We had a 4-player board for a while. Either individual or teams. Games were short and violent.

The Chinese have some wacky game they play that’s sort of like chess for multiple players. Don’t ask me what the rules are though. They seem to change. Or maybe you just need 65 years to master them.

Not the same. Spock was shown in a few episodes with a 3-dimensional chessboard: Different subsets of the regular board's grids held on pillars at different levels.

We had a 4-player board for a while.

Some buddies back in college did the same thing. They dubbed it "HyperChess".

I have one similar to that, three levels. The moves are the same, except in three dimensions. For example, the knight can move one level up and two spaces over or two levels up and one over or just like regular chess on the same level. You have to attack or defend with all 3 levels in mind.

It's somewhere in the back of the closet. Let Spock play it.

Naaa, socialist chess would end up with the government taking all the pieces, keeping 95% of them and giving each of you one pawn which would actually be a miniature remote camera and microphone they would use to spy on you. If you complained, they would take you out and work you to death in a salt mine.

Chinese Checkers?.........

Ha! No, I think I’ve mastered the concept of Chinese checkers…

No, this one is played on a board with pieces that look like stone/marble checkers and they plop them down on little intersecting lines to try to “capture” opposing pieces or something.

They also gamble during the game and I’ve seen probably $5,000 on the table at times.

Meanwhile, they never seemed inclined to “teach” me the rules – probably because serious gambling was being conducted.
