I think the reason that some of us are invested in this case is because we feel he is guilty as sin and know the toll that sexual abuse and molestation takes on young people.

MJ finds, like most pedophiles, dysfunctional families who will never be believed in a court of law.

But it's a rare teenage and younger boy who will lie about something like this. Extremely rare.

And in the 93 case, which Jackson paid millions to get out of, the kid identified his private parts. There's no doubt in my mind he's a pedophile.

The jury had the problem of knowing he was a pedophile and a freak but being required to put that out of their minds and acquit or convict on the case in front of them based on the evidence in front of them. Not easy to do with the parade of witnesses testifying to Jackson's past immoralities that Snedon produced, but it seems that's what the jury did. Hence, no eye contact. They know they're letting a kiddie raper go.

Yes it does!

Regards from Germany, a country where murderers can walk away after 15 years imprisonment, but at least they´re convicted (unlike OJ)...

I wonder how many of the jurors have been parents or have young children and if they would be willing for Michael to treat them to milk and cookies in his bedroom the same way Michael alleges he treated the others.

So what the jurors have unanimously said is it is perfectly in order that you sleep with children.

You're right about the jury pools across the country and who serves and who gets out of serving.

Responsible, intelligent people are typically working and get a pass so we get grifters.

California has their own special problem because they are absolutely INCAPABLE of convicting celebrities.

Calif is the laughingstock, remember they just let Robert Blake off, because his wife was not a very good person!

I have not read this thread but I wonder what the judges instructions to the jury were. Perhaps his instructions were written in such a way that the jury had no chioce but not guilty.

Looks like we were right, with the exception of a guilty verdict on the alcohol charge.

I agree.

Pedophiles like Michael Jackson don't see themselves as doing anything 'wrong'. It's looooove. He quite likely really believes he's innocent of any crime and now that delusion has been effectively vindicated by a jury of his 'peers'. God help any children with greedy, irresponsible parents who come within Jackson's circle from this point on.

The verdict is a bit of a surprise but not a shock. Jackson had a powerful defense team and the prosecution had a lot of problems and setbacks, including the alleged young victims strange and off-putting mother, who, while not personally on trial, sure didn't help the prosecution much.

Add to all this the fact that, legally, it seemed to be a complicated case with a lot of circumstantial evidence, wildly conflicting testimony and - no doubt - a reluctance of the jurors to convict Jackson and possibly set off L.A. riots (which had been threatened). There was also the fact that they possibly didn't want to convict just because Michael Jackson is extremely weird. I guess I have to believe that the evidence did not support the charges, or at least not to the jurors satisfaction. Besides, it's California. Anything goes and if you're a mega-millionaire show business celebrity, you pretty much can do as you please. Murder, pedophilia, whatever. Fame and money rule. Just ask Michael Jackson...or O.J. Simpson.

Didn't I hear last week or so that MJ is planning to move to Paris, or at least to Europe?

I´m sick of this, too. I had loved the idea to see this child molestor handcuffed in orange dress.

My first question to the jury is "which of you will be the first to let your small child or grandchild spend the night at Neverland Ranch?"

I'll bet a lot of them would jump at the chance, especially if there was money or a shot at media fame in it for them. That's the really sickening and scary part of all this. Michael Jackson will never run short of victims to molest - too many people will willingly give their kids over to him, if the price is right.

As if Jackson and his family have any credibility.

There was solid evidence in this case. The family that reported it is not the "bad guy." Jackson's freakishly bizarre behavior worked in his favor, I am sure of it. The lesson: if you're going to be a pedophile, be Michael Jackson.

Michael could write a lead article for the NAMBLA newsletter after this and entitle it: "Amateurs Should Not Attempt This. I'm a Professional, and I'm Michael Jackson."

Pedophiles go after kids with weak single parent mothers. Do you really believe that the Jackson type of human scum would pick out the child of a wealthy lawyer to hit on? You can almost identify these creeps by their choice of victims...

The mother was not a likable character at all.

That's almost British understatement. She was hostile, jumpy, arrogant and deceitful.
