Just re-read the snippet, it appears he is an employee, not a student.

I think it might have something to do with the school accepting federal funds.

"I think it might have something to do with the school accepting federal funds."

Unfortunately, that's a dilemma many parochial colleges face. If they accept federal funding (often necessary for aid) they have to accept secular policies. The Orthodox Jewish institution where I work had to eliminate married students' housing, because gays & lesbians insisted on apartments.

My question, apropos this article: Why is this "guy" at a Catholic college anyway? Plenty of secular colleges around would accept him, hands down.

I think people like him are making a deliberate provocation. What kind of statement is he trying to make?

Oh my, I just found my head shaking the whole time I was reading this. (cringe)

Elevating a pathology to Title VII status is a new one to me.

Mrs. Suhks is a labor attorney, I'll have to ask her about this one.

Is it legal to fire someone for being insane? For example, what if a waiter at one's restaurant decided that he was actually Gandhi and insisted on wearing a loincloth to work? Could you axe him?

That's another good question for Mrs. Suhks.

My understanding is that transgender has not been formally "recognized" as normal by the medical powers that be.
