Thanks, as always, to the two of you for keeping us focused on Whose we are! Bless you!
You'd REALLY like it over here...
:)
Have fun and wave Old Glory a few times for me. I have to work tomorrow.
Will do.
a few pix from last weekend.
We had a great time. Not a lot of people tonight, but we had a good group and got lots of positive response from the cars that passed by.
Then we topped of the evening with a wonderful dinner and a Margarita at the Outback Steakhouse.
Now I am ready to toddle off to bed. :-)
Nice pictures DollyCali, I really like the way you arranged them.
Sorry I've been away for so long. I just haven't had much time to be on the internet since November. My DH came home from Iraq in February, but left a couple of weeks ago to go back to Kuwait. He volunteered this time, and will be in a quieter area, so hopefully it will be a fairly easy deployment.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and hopefully I'll be around a bit more again.
I was in a convenience store one day, standing in line behind a man paying for his groceries. When he was finished, the clerk sent him off with a cheery "Have a great day!" To the clerk's surprise (and mine) the man exploded in anger. "This is one of the worst days of my life," he shouted. "How can I have a great day?" And with that he stormed out of the store. I understand the man's frustration; I too have "bad" days over which I have no control. How can I have a great day, I ask myself, when it's beyond my control? Then I remember these words: "This is the day the Lord has made" (Psalm 118:24). The Lord has made every day, and my Father will show Himself strong on my behalf today. He has control over everything in it-even the hard things that will come my way. All events have been screened through His wisdom and love, and they are opportunities for me to grow in faith. "His mercy endures forever" (v.1). "The Lord is on my side; I will not fear" (v.6). Now, when people give me the parting admonition to have a great day, I reply, "That's beyond my control, but I can be grateful for whatever comes my way, and rejoice-for this is the day the Lord has made." -David Roper
Before you rise up out of bed, Rejoice-be glad and give God praise, And thank Him for what lies ahead. -Sper A smile is a curve that can set things straight.

Thank you for the Daily Devotional, Mr. Mayor!
You have no idea how very happy I am to have you here again, mrstank!!
Often seeing your name on my Ping! List when I make Replies, I've wondered how you are, last hearing when your husband (mrtank..:)) surprised you with a brief return to the States for your birthday/anniversary in November.
Hesitated to follow up with Freep Mail, in case there was some news you did not care to share -- but just continued to pray for you and for him.
((( Hugs )))

Good job working the street last night Mama Bear (does that sound right?) lol
Thanks to The Mayor and LadyX for such moving posts.
It's so great to see you again Mrs Tank, I've missed you!

I'm not really here G of B. Em's coming over.
Glad to see you around mrstank. Also glad that your DH is deployed in a safer place now. Of course, we are always in prayer for all of our people who are serving our country, wherever they are.
You're going out to.....get a bucket? Hi Sistah, I'm not really here. Miss Em is coming over for Grammy to keep for an hour or so, then have to go get my hair cut.
LOL!!! Thanks, sistah. ;-)
Are you to Emma?
What a coincidence! My mother has always been "Grammy" to my son. In fact, her FR screen name is "Grammy Bear", although she rarely posts on FR.
If you have a use for it, I know she would be more than happy to share the "Grammy" graphic that SAMWolf gave her years ago. :-)
Yeah, that looks cool. Thank your Mother, and thank you. Onto my profile page it goes. (If you don't mind).
Sure don't. We are happy to share it. :-)
