Cindy,
Saw something about Penn Station being closed down. Can't find the thread now (I hit refresh too quickly). Have you seen anything about Penn Station?

No, I haven't.
I was out watering the front lawn.
Let me check.

Looks like the Amtrak cafe cars that go to Penn Station are closed apparently due to financial matters. Bring a snack.

And...there's some fare hikes for NJ transit riders...that's about all I could find AD...checked about 15 news sites.

July 01, 2005

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A man was struck and killed by a Long Island Railroad train near Long Island City Friday night, causing massive delays that temporarily stranded passengers heading in and out of Penn Station.

The eastbound train was on its way from Penn Station to Great Neck when the accident occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m.

Service in and out of Penn Station was suspended both ways between Penn Station and Jamaica Point, stranding passengers for up to three hours before service was restored at 10 p.m."
