A small Xinhua story carried by Reuter's last week mentioned China opening bomb shelters 'for people to escape the heatwave' The shelters can accommodate 10's of thousands of persons. This wouldn't normally trigger my interest, except that (a) the current heat wave is only a few degrees above normal, and (b) the story has since been removed from most Western servers. This could be a good front for a shakedown tour. Will be interesting to see if they subsequently decide to 'repair' or 'improve' these 'aging relics' in the near future.
