The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

Torrance theft suspects focus of terror probe (CA)


Two men charged in Torrance with a series of gas station holdups are under investigation for possible links to terrorist activities, authorities and a family member confirmed today.

Police and FBI officials refused to discuss an investigation into Gregory Vernon Patterson, 21, of Gardena and Levar Haney Washington, 25, of Los Angeles, but acknowledged the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force is looking at the men. :::snip:::

Patterson's mother, Abbie Patterson, vice president of student services at Los Angeles Harbor College in Wilmington, said she knew nothing about the terrorism suspicions.

She called her son an "idealistic young man" who was an honors student and Christian who recently converted to Islam.

"My son has never done anything wrong," she said. "All they told us is he was picked up for robbery and they brought in the FBI because they suspected some terrorism.

So, I went looking to find the article on illegals crossing into US and found about 6 different articles....which all now display the 404 error message.

My radar went up that this article was 'pulled' for some reason.

I did find one copy, which I have now put on my homepage here.

Listening to news conferences, having trouble understanding why they are so quick to dismiss that this was a response to getting the Olympics.

But, this announcement date was known well in advance, and I would not be surprised if there could be cells ready to go in more than one city... especially in Europe.

I agree. Like yesterday when Chertoff came out and said there is no intelligence indicating that U.S. transportation is threatened. Like these snakes can't operate under the radar screen? They don't necessary have to have traceable communications and carry a terrorist ID card indicating exactly which branch of AQ they belong to. Common sense.
