You shouldn't. My initial reaction to these terror attacks is usually to link the date of occurence with a significant date of a past event. 7/7/05 adding up to 19 immediately stood out.

Arab Criticism of Muslim Extremist Activities in the West
Extremist Muslims in Western countries have come under increasing criticism by moderate Muslims who are familiar with the West through living in America or Europe, either temporarily or permanently. In three recently published articles, Arab academic and intellectuals harshly criticized their extremist activities.
In his article on the reformist website www.elaph.com, Dr. Ahmad Abu Matar, a Palestinian academic residing in Oslo, stated that Muslims in Europe foster conflict instead of coexistence. Muslims in Europe, he explained, are influenced by an extremist fundamentalist brand of Islam – and moderate Muslims are not speaking out adequately against this activity.
In the UAE daily Al-Itihad, Saudi journalist Turki Al-Dakhil, whose popular interview program on Al-Arabiyya television frequently hosts reformist Muslims, wrote about the hatred of the West that is spread by Muslims in the U.S., sharing his personal experience during his studies in the U.S. around the time of 9/11.
In the wake of Al-Dakhil's article, Tarek Hamo, a Kurdish journalist living in Germany, also criticized the actives of extremist Muslims in the West. In his article in www.elaph.com, Hamo accused Arab and Muslim states that seek to appease the extremists and to keep them away from political activity in their own countries, as well as the European host countries that are turning a blind eye to extremist activity – on grounds of "tolerance" and "religious freedom," and more recently, on grounds of a "dialogue of civilizations."

Muslims in Europe Foster Conflict, Not Coexistence
Dr. Ahmad Abu Matar wrote: "The presence of Muslims of all nationalities, and especially those of Arab nationality, has become a palpable phenomenon in all of the EU countries, and in Western Europe in particular. In some of these countries, like France, for instance, they number more than five million, and in many countries they have centers, institutions, and activities that they cannot sustain in their own Arab and Muslim countries."
As an example of activities conducted in the West that are not permitted in Arab countries, Abu Matar mentioned the Islamic Liberation Party, which "announces from London its political platform –to establish the Islamic caliphate over all corners of the earth – and declares that the party will suggest to the Queen of England that she convert to Islam, and thus will not have to pay the Islamic poll tax on non-Muslims [jizya]." As another example he cited the activities of Abu Hamza Al-Masri, the imam of Finsbury Park Mosque in London, who called for jihad and suicide bombings in Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The third example he gave is the thousands of mosques and Islamic charitable organizations in Europe and America that publicly collect contributions, and in addition, receive annual budgets from European countries.
It was a little over a year ago, if I remember correctly.
That was the understanding at the time. However, time may have modified that initial standard.

US: Washington rejects call for troop pull-out from Central Asia

Washington D.C., 7 July (AKI/DAWN) - The US State Department has rejected demands from Russia, China and some Central Asian states to withdraw its troops from the region, saying that US troops in Afghanistan and neighbouring states would remain for as long as those countries want them to stay. Russian and Chinese officials made the demand at meeting in Kazakhstan of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) which took place against backdrop of veiled criticism of Western influence in Central Asian region.
SCO delegates asked the US-led troop contingent to fix a date for their departure from military bases in the region that were set up to support operations in Afghanistan in 2001.
Founded in June 2001, the SCO includes China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The United States operates military airbases in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan — two of the five former Soviet Central Asian republics that Russia still views as its backyard and where China, seeking oil and gas, is increasingly vocal player.
Other states from the neighbouring regions, such as India, Pakistan and Iran, are also attending the SCO summit now being held in the new Kazakh capital, Astana.
Asked to comment on the demand for the withdrawal of US troops from Central Asia, State Department spokesman Sean McCormack acknowledged that the United States maintained military bases in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
He then pointed out that Afghanistan, where US troops and the official Afghan army were jointly fighting remnants of Taliban and al-Qaeda movements, did not endorse the demand for the withdrawal of US forces from the region.
"I would note, however, there was a party from those discussions and from the signature line on the statement who’s missing, and it’s Afghanistan," said McCormack.

U.S. FINDS RAT LINE FROM N. AFRICA TO IRAQ
WASHINGTON [MENL] -- The United States has determined that North Africa comprises a major source of funding and manpower for the Sunni insurgency in Iraq.
U.S. officials said a study by the military's European Command has traced the flow of money and recruits from such countries as Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia to Iraq. They said the operatives often travel through Iran and cross into the largely unpoliced border of Iraq.
"The Islamic cells in North Africa have become the No. 2 supplier of funds and foreign fighters for the insurgency in Iraq," an official said. "The ties between these cells and Al Qaida in Iraq are very tight."
The study said nearly 30 percent of all suicide bombers in Iraq come from North Africa. Algeria alone contributes up to 20 percent of suicide car bombers and another five percent come from Morocco and Tunisia.

Reports on some of the other threads are that the DC Metro has been cleared -- possible IED device. That's all they seem to have right now.
The group that claimed responsibility for this also claimed to be associated with AQ. Has the finger prints of AQ-styled operation all over it.
1. Timed, coordinated, multiple attacks designed to maximize terror and news coverage.
2. Standard garbage associated with the claiming of responsibility for attacks. Group also claims to be an AQ branch.
I just heard the first blast was at 8:51am. A book I am currently reading lists this as the same time the first WTC building was hit. I am having trouble confirming that on the internet, but it definately stoood out in what I heard.

A group calling itself "The Secret Organization of al-Qaeda in Europe" posted a claim of responsibility for Thursday's blasts in London, saying they were in retaliation for Britain's involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The statement, which also threatened attacks in Italy and Denmark, was published on a Web site popular with Islamists. "Rejoice, Islamic nation. Rejoice, Arab world. The time has come for vengeance against the Zionist crusader government of Britain in response to the massacres Britain committed in Iraq and Afghanistan," said the statement.
In its statement, the group said "the heroic mujahedeen carried out a blessed attack in London, and now Britain is burning with fear and terror, from north to south, east to west." "We warned the British government and the British people repeatedly. We have carried out our promise and carried out a military attack in Britain after great efforts by the heroic mujahedeen over a long period to ensure its success.""
