The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Threat Matrix - Daily Terrorism Threat
Threat Matrix: U.S. Terrorism
Expert: Al-Qaida Has Presence In South Florida
Full Story

MIRAMAR, Fla. -- Despite the massive federal, state and local law enforcement effort to stop terrorists from entering the United States, there is no strong evidence of how well it is working.

Many experts are concerned that there are plenty of terrorists or sympathizers already in the country who have been here for years. Some are even citizens.

The Sept. 11, 2001, hijackers were the first wave and now the increasing number of arrests seems to signal a second wave of terrorism in South Florida.

Message from Sheikh Abou Mouss'ab Zarqawi announcing good news to the people

That the People of Islam rejoice at the Martyrdom of a model among models of good, of jihad, and of knowledge, the active scholar, our Sheikh Abdullah Rashoud, that Allah accept him among the Martyrs. He migrated and waged the jihad with his language and his teeth, he killed and was killed, and he came to defend the truth and his people.

He gathered religion, the fear of Allah, science, and action. He left the Arabic Peninsula, evading those tyrants, and he joined the battlefields of jihad and fighting for The Land of The Two Rivers, there where his death was destined for him.

He reentered Iraq as a refugee. There was nearly a month and a half crossing the desert and passing the borders of the Tyrants, and he went towards Qaim at the time when the winds of war were on the way and the attacks on the Truth were raging.

He answered the call of his Lord and hastened to join His eternal paradise, and ran up in order to make his religion triumph.

So he took part in the battles of Qaim, that Allah is raised by pride, and the triumph, and when the Crusaders tried to land and place their soldiers in the region the Mujahideen sprung on them and swore not to be dirtied with their religion and they desired the meeting with their Lord, the Merciful and desired to acquire the satisfaction of Allah and the Houris.

And the enemies of Allah couldn't do anything against the brigade in which Sheikh Abdullah Rashoud was situated, and what courage, and what boldness that was found in our Sheikh Rashoud and the little group of brothers who were with him, among the refugees and the Ansar. And they killed some Crusaders until they withdrew and fled the neighborhood. The Crusaders were incapable of penetrating the region. They only succeeded by bombing the Mujahideen places with the help of jet fighters.

And our Sheikh took possession of that which he hoped for, and happy he who acquires it, and the last were preferred to the first, and O those among you who ask about the perfume of the Shahid, know that the scent of musk released itself from his blood, that Allah covers him in his mercy and that he grants him His Paradise.

The best of the scholars, is the one who is active on earth, and it's not surprising, because this is the custom of Rabaniyin scholars, and this is their role for they become examples to the People of Islam. The best of the leaders is the one who goes forward to embark on and acquire greatness. Sheikh Abou Anas went aboard the caravan of Martyrs before and today our Sheikh Rashoud, that Allah accept him with the Martyrs and that He reward them with the best of rewards.

But where are those who are preparing themselves for paradise? And where are those who ask for the Mercy of Allah, and where are the followers of the religion of Allah? Take them as example.

Our star isn't extinguished, certainly not, his light continues to shine..His brilliance a fire for the enemies of Allah and for the believers, a light which illuminates their path.

IRAQ: BAN ON OLD CAR SALES DRIVES MARKET DOWN

Baghdad, 23 June (AKI) - A ban on the sale of cars manufactured before the year 2000 - based on concerns that older vehicles were favoured by suicide bombers - has sent Iraq's second hand car market into a slump, the London Institute for War and Peace Reporting (IWPR) reports. The decision has led to a sharp drop in the market which after the fall of Saddam Hussein and the opening up of the country to foreign imports, had seen a sudden boom. The ban on pre-2000 car sales dates back to February after authorities realised that carbombers generally opted for older models that they felt more familiar driving. "Many importers have suspended their operations after the government's decision and this has influenced the quality of cars available," dealer Wisam Abdulla told IWPR. Another dealer interviewed said that once he could sell 20 cars per month, all imported from the United Arab Emirates, but that sales were now at a virtual standstill.

Iraqis are deterred from buying new models also because of the difficulty in getting spare parts, as well as the shortage of mechanics capable of repairing them.

The Iraqi government is finding it difficult to track the legal owners under its new vehicle registration system, as some belonged to the former regime and had temporary plates, while others were stolen.

Nice "Hollywood" like use of Adagio for Strings.

Same mournful music as in the Vietnam genre movie, Platoon.

Hey all, just checking in... been battling some health issues recently, and haven't had much time on the computer. I found out it's Kidney stones, nothing terrible... but, pretty painful. I'm having them zapped next week, so I hope to be spending some more time on here again shortly. :)

"Rare Morocco explosives seizure - for fishing"
Wed Jun 22, 2005 8:01 PM BST

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "RABAT (Reuters) - Moroccan police have questioned three men after seizing explosives and detonators, apparently for use in fishing, state news agency MAP reported on Wednesday.

Police had "recently" seized 200 sticks of dynamite and 115 detonators in a car and arrested its 67-year-old driver in the Mediterranean port city of Nador, MAP quoted a police source as saying. A middleman and supplier were also questioned.

They raided his house and found 485 detonators."

there are still some politicians AND SOME SUPREME COURT MEMBERS who are "really" looking out for our their better interests....

Land of the brave = Pharmaceutical companies who run America with political contributions and profits from overpriced drugs.

Land that I love = Just hope and pray no corporation loves it more than you do or it's eminent domain at your house

With liberty and justice for all = a bit more liberty to be taken by corporate America and a bit more justice if they need to kick you off your land

"Piracy and terrorist fears make Malacca Strait 'high risk': US official"
Thu Jun 23, 2:28 PM ET

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "NANTES, France (AFP) - Piracy has made the Malacca Strait off Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore extremely dangerous for international shipping, requiring joint action by countries in the region before the problem worsens by perhaps involving terrorist groups, a US Coast Guard official said. "The Malacca Strait is very well known in the maritime community as a very high risk area for piracy and other armed robberies," Commander Clay Diamond, a liaison officer to the US state department, told AFP on the sidelines of an international Maritime Security conference in Nantes, western France.

But with more than 1,000 vessels and more than 10 million barrels of oil passing through the zone every day, and Asian extremist groups such as Jemaah Islamiyah active in southeast Asia, there are fears that the Strait may become targeted by terrorists.

"There is every indication to think there's a link between pirates and other maritime criminals and terrorist organisations," Diamond said.

He added that there was the "obvious" scenario of a ship -- a gas or oil tanker for instance -- being hijacked and used to attack a port city as a floating bomb.

"But less obvious and just as problematic is that piracy and other criminal acts at sea can be used as fundraising operations for terrorists.""
