TAMPA -- A 7-year-old boy fatally beat his baby half-sister with his fists, feet and a two-by-four because he was jealous of the attention she was receiving and because she wouldn't stop crying, police said Wednesday.
The Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office is trying to decide whether to file charges against the boy in the attack that rattled even veteran homicide detectives.
"The veteran detectives who worked on this case have never seen a case with someone as young as a 7-year-old show so much violence and so little remorse," McElroy said. "The only explanation he gave is he wanted her to stop crying."
The unidentified boy was not taken into custody and is living with his mother in Lakeland while prosecutors make their decision. The attack occurred May 22 at the home of the boy's father in Tampa.

Is that person Frank Zappa? I remember seeing his two grown children in an interview a number of years ago. They were talking about their father, and the funny names he gave them. The son's name was Dweezel(sp?), and the daughter's name was Moon Unit! Then they laughingly tried to explain what they meant, and why he gave them those uh, unusual names!

Ever had Lamb curry for passover...oh it's fun...lots of fun. I travel all over the world, and get to see "local" television content. In most all countires, God is mentioned...either someone is praying, or asking for help. It's only here, in US, that God is just missing out in TV land. Why? I hate "Friends."

I was just asking another poster if Moon Unit Zappa was the person! I saw an interview with she and Dweezil once. But I thought they were his only children! I guess there were two more. All with weird names!

You're right.. they should throw the parents in jail for making him a "little sociopath".

While I admire your convictions, I think you are going a bit overboard.
America does not have a culture of death. There is evil, but the country as a whole does not have a culture of death. I don't know where that catch phrase originated, but many people use it much too freely.
Don't bother to try and tell me all about abortions and Terry Schiavo. I understand all that, but more than one half of this country would like to make abortion illegal (including me) and the hugest majority of Americans would not starve a loved one to death.
Also, Friends is a TV show. Please don't waste your time worrying about the eternal souls of Monica, Joey, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Rachel and Phoebe. They don't exist.

Oh brother, what you don't get is that these TV shows have the power to influence. But, point taken...I guess it's just coninsidental that our "heros" are from hollywood, NFL, NBA, and MLB.

Mother Terresa (the Saint not the can o dirts wife) once remarked that in a nation that has killed over 40 million pre born children that life would become very cheap.. and easily taken..Well, that has indeed happened.

School prayer and a spanking cures homocidal insanity; didn't you get the memo?

The water in Florida is ok, right? Absolutely.
They don't polute it by drowning little monsters like this in it at the first signs of soulessness.

Then, many, many decades ago--in Florida, no less--there was a gentleman, named by his father, legally named 5/8 Jameson. (Or, perhaps Jaimeson.)
Never did anyone ever find out what the other 3/8 of him were supposed to be.

How do you solve a problem like Petronski?I have no idea, never having witnessed him solve a problem. Maybe someday I'll ask him how he does it.

A proper understanding of the ten commandments might have kept THE PARENTS from such abandonment.

I was fine with everything up until #4. What the hell does it matter what the baby's name was?

You say that as though this kid's mother and father didn't know that divorcing each other, abandoning him, and partying at midnight with two kids at home was wrong. There's a difference between knowing and caring. Precisely what would reading/understanding the ten commanding do for two people who obviously don't give a damn?

I don't think I would sleep too well with this child in the next room.

My daughter has an 18 month old half-brother and she loves him dearly. And every time he sees her, his little face lights up. I took her to the hospital to see him on the morning he was born. My ex's wife took pictures of me holding him from her hospital bed. She just emailed me several pictures of him in his little tuxedo.
Divorce is not a good thing. There's no denying that. But most children whose parents are divorced are not murderous little monsters. The extent to which a child suffers from divorce is dependent upon the adults involved. And I bet that divorce is the least of these people's problems.
