I'm not a fan of Democratic Socialists or liberal Democrats, but you're using an ellipse to change what Dean said. He said that Bernie Sanders calls himself a Democratic Socialist but is really more of a liberal Democrat.

There are far worse sins than taking Howard Dean out of context, but we have the facts on our side; no need not to play it straight.

That is why there was no follow-up by Williams. He was silently trying to figure out what Clinton was saying.

William's was thinking something like:
"Is Clinton saying that, he lied when he said he lied about lying. Or "is he lying about the lying he lied about lying.... Oh my head is starting to spin....."

Only Clinton can spin so freely. I'm still trying to figure what the meaning of is, is. Holy cow!
