TAMPA, Fla. -- In an attack that's rattled even veteran detectives, police in Florida said a 7-year-old boy has confessed to beating his baby sister to death.
Investigators said the boy was jealous of the attention the infant was getting and upset by her crying. They said the boy beat the baby with his fists, feet and a two-by-four.
The attack occurred in Tampa, while the boy was visiting his father.
Police said the father and his girlfriend were outside with neighbors when the boy came out and told them the baby was "bleeding." They said the seven-month-old had a bloody nose, and wasn't breathing. The parents rushed the baby to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A spokesman said detectives noted they'd never seen someone so young "show so much violence and so little remorse."
I want the old fashioned family back again.

It does not say wife.....they must have had a child out-of-wedlock and are shacking up. I would be shocked to find out these are great parents........

You are assuming something. You are assuming that a 7-year old is not normally capable of murder unless he/she is mentally incompetent/retarted.
Why invent excuses for this piece of human debris?

Maybe I'm just not in a gregarious mood today. Maybe I'm fed up with humanity. Probably both, but what I said still stands. If the child knew what it did was wrong and what the depth of the act was, (And I think it had an inkling, since it needed a 2x4 to finish the job) it should be destroyed as an affront to the human race. To take life without cause is to forfeit your own.

If the appeals process could be made shorter, I'd be all for it, so long as justice be done.
I do not see the connection between the execution of a muderous child and euthenasia.
On one hand, we have punishment by death for taking a life.
On the other hand, we have death for the purposes of convenience, mercy killing, whatever you wish to call it.
If it never sees the street again, why not just give it the needle and have done?
Since we can't be 100% perfect in how justice is meted out should we then do away with all courts and layers and judicial sytems and allow vigilanties to resolve problems? Shall we let chaos rule supreme. You may things a tad confused. Justice is for the victim and or their families, not the criminal, though there does seem to be attempts to reverse that. Society shouldn't have to to pay to keep these murderers fed, clothed and healthy until they all die of old age. Society shouldn't have to fund and build more and more prisons to keep the criminals off the streets, but as it is now, our prisons are over crowded and they are letting criminals out early because they need the space. What is the point of even having a judicial system when we don't even make the criminals fulfill their sentences? Look at that Tate kid. He sure changed, right? Nope. These kids can kill and they don't get treated as adults and are back on the streets and getting into trouble all over again. We know who (at leat from what the article printed) killed this baby. Do you think someone else did it? What about the 9 year old girl? Do you think someone else killed the 11 year old? Do you really think putting someone behind bars for a couple of years is justice for taking someone else's life away from them? For taking someone else's child away from them? If your child were outside laying in the sun and a 7 year old snuck up on her and stabbed and killed her, would you feel that putting that 7 year into treatment would equal justice? Would you consider that justice had been served? You are right about justice not being equal. A lot of criminals are getting out way too soon and a lot are not required to spend the time behind bars as they should, because overcrowding makes it difficult. Why is it that our judicial system has become so lax and soft? Look at the rapists and pedophiles that get out after just a few years to continue where they left off. I don't buy into the blame poverty bit. Look at Teddy Kennedy and Chappaquiddick, and his cousin Skakel. They weren't poverty stricken. There were people in our town when I was growing up that were dirt poor, but they never killed anybody. There have been a couple of times when I was laid off from work and about to lose everything I had worked for, several times, living on soda crackers, but I didnt kill anybody. I went out and found a different job. Wasn't a glamorous or well paying job, but hey, it was a job. Some people think if it doesn't pay big money then it is beneath them. Life is about choices. We don't to have to worry about IF in these two cases, we know already. We have appeals processes, but society should not be punished by forcing them to pay for the lifelong incarceration of these people. Maybe we could pass a law that the families of these bottomfeeders have to pay all costs for housing, feeding and caring for their demon seeds.

A kid that lived up the street from us in Mission Viejo took a broom stick and jammed his four year old brother's texticles up inside of him. Sociopaths start early.
Because we don't enforce it. Suddenly it makes perfect sense why Australia was used as a penal colony way back when. I wish we had a huge island that we could ship all these cretins to so they could fend for themselves and not be able to harm civilized society not cost society anything.

I would be for this also, IF they are truly guilty and get the same chance to prove innocence or guilt as everyone. However I am not so sure about sending a seven year old to a penal colony.
