TAMPA, Fla. -- In an attack that's rattled even veteran detectives, police in Florida said a 7-year-old boy has confessed to beating his baby sister to death.
Investigators said the boy was jealous of the attention the infant was getting and upset by her crying. They said the boy beat the baby with his fists, feet and a two-by-four.
The attack occurred in Tampa, while the boy was visiting his father.
Police said the father and his girlfriend were outside with neighbors when the boy came out and told them the baby was "bleeding." They said the seven-month-old had a bloody nose, and wasn't breathing. The parents rushed the baby to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A spokesman said detectives noted they'd never seen someone so young "show so much violence and so little remorse."
I think you may be on to something.
Autism leads to this kind of aggression?
You have the same ear my wife does. She knew when our daughter needed her now and/or when she was just exercising her lungs. That was a trick I never learned.
It is a gift only given to women...;) I knew it was true!
my hubby and i "dated" (it was more like a courtship) about 5-6 months before getting engaged, and married 11 months later... he was 36 and i was 31... we had 6 terrific years of marriage before becoming parents... it was lots of fun, just the two of us (and our dogs)... of course, we had the house and careers before we married (since we were "older").
now we are in a different stage--the parenting stage... and it's lots of fun, too... we were ready for it in many ways...
So you think on a "normal" newsday a 7 year-old baby killer wouldn't have made it?
Well, maybe that's for the best. ;^)
My 1st child, who was doted upon hand and feet is beginning her 1st year at Yale Law School after graduating from Princeton University in 2004.
The younger siblings are having to settle on Indiana and Emory. We let them cry and didn't fret over them as much.
I'm a failure it seems. ;^)

So is the one, "Honey would you go and check on the baby" ....... to find ........ that she need her diaper changed. Phew!
Yep...somewhat from sensory overload. Used to be the development of aggression towards sibs was one of the first signs of autism.
*smiles*
Spoiled one and let the others rot! Terrible parenting, haha.
Just go ahead and admit it, **Big Roaring Belly Laugh That Woke The Neighbors Baby**
Women, humph!
It's embarrassing that in the 1st dozen posts or so, there are suggestions that it's a shame that the SCOTUS forbids executing the 7 year old for committing the act.
Something "nice" for the DU lurkers to get clamor over...Freepers wishing a death sentence being meted out to a 7 yr old.
Within the last three weeks our next door neighbor's five-year-old has deliberately smashed my daughter's plastic chair and kicked the top off of one of our landscape lights. Yesterday he pulled all the leaves off of a birch tree I had just planted. I told him I was pissed and told him not to come into our yard for the next month. Fifteen minutes later his father shows up to yell at me. "He's just five!" "He's very sensitive!"
Oh well... Next time I'm putting up a fence.
Yup. My next-door problem child is from a blended family.
Not us. we did it the hard way, met one day in a 7-11 parking lot, went on a date and got married a couple months later. I was 20. Fortunately I was already owned my first house, so between 23 years of army, going to collage and starting a business we managed, with kids comming at 21. They were very busy years for a while, but nothing in life is easy. Now we have plenty of time to ourselves and we are still young enough to enjoy it. Things were a little different and affordable 26 years ago though.
You and several other FReepers are correct. Please see my post #54 and thanks.
Too many of these horrible stories lately I guess and I shouldn't be posting while trying to work.
