So Felt is Deep Throat...meaning that Woodward and Bernstein *lied* about Deep Throat being a chain smoking (he doesn't smoke), scotch drinking (he drinks martinis), White House source.

Further meaning that W&B lied about Deep Throat being an "idealist" concerned about his country (Felt had to have done it for revenge against Nixon bypassing Felt for the top FBI job, as well as for Nixon purging the FBI of Hooverites).

Moreover, Felt leaked FBI file information...something that sent *other* Watergate players to jail.

Oh, it also means that Woodward and Bernstein *lied* again when they claimed that Deep Throat was "powerless" and had no outlet except to leak to the press.

Now watch the Corrupt Old Leftist News Media glorify Felt as much as they denigrated Linda Tripp for her whistle-blowing...double standards being their stock in trade...

MSNBC just said that the comments in Vanity Fair about Felt being Deep Throat...come from Felt's relatives.

So has Felt actually admitted it...or was he exposed by his relatives looking for fame and cash.

They just showed him being helped to the door by his family to wave at the cameras.

The dude looks out of it. Looks like the family wants the fame and cash off this one.

The question I ask is how much about watergate did Felt know.

This explains several things. Woodward and Bernstein claimed that Deep Throat was inside the white house. That could not have been true. Since everyone in the White House knew about the taping.. and it is obvious that Deep Throat did not know about it.

The existance of the tapes was revealed by a White House staffer testifying before the Congressional Committee.

The Question is what did Deep Throat know. The FBI certainly talked to employees at the Watergate, and talked to the investigating officers. I doubt seriously if many of the principles talked much to the FBI. They all had the right to remain silent.. and until it broke wide open I betcha a lot of them did.

I still think that a lot of what they published in the Washington Post was assumptions based on analsys not on a real sourse. Some of it came from this Deep Throat, but I would still bet a lot of it was educated guess.

I think the FBI knew who broke into the Watergate, and they may have traced some money transfers, but not much else.

No wonder W&B wanted to wait until "someone died".
They got away with Dan Rather reporting for almost half a century.
They will be disgraced. Big Time.

I agree with you.
And is it true his "family" are the spokespersons?
That he is too old, too frail and has memory lapses?

Excellent summary assessment. Only postulate I might question is Felt's sole preference for martinis. Seems he liked a variety of the liquors.
