Maybe another Washington insider who hated Nixon's anti-communist positions.
Or maybe he wanted to take down a RINO.
To: Mo1

Did Felt feel slighted for being passed over for promotion by Nixon and pass on the info to Woodward and Bernstein, not out of duty and honor, but out of revenge?Payback is a bitch. However, if it was Felt, he ought to have just done his job of taking care of the criminals instead of running to the press.

Maybe Hoover directed him to do it?If so, Hoover is even more powerful than he thought he was. Didn't Hoover pass away in 1971?

Absolutely. I think Liddy is the kind of guy who might pursue some kind of legal action, although it would be doomed to failure.

Was listening to XM in the car. Before I switched to FOX, MSNBC babe said the boys made a promise & have said they will keep it. So much for promises. I am shocked....not.
This whole thing is strange. If the man has dementia, why would anyone take him at his word that he was Deep Throat?
Taking it one step further, if he has dementia, why would Woodward verify it?
Maybe I have a different value system, but if Felt truly has dementia, it would be more important to keep this promise.
Unless Woodward thought "What the hell, open the cash cow for the family beofe the old man dies." Some promise keeper.

Liddy has such intense hatred for Dean -- seemingly justified, seeing what a snake Dean is -- that he would probably accuse him of anything.

The family is on MSNBC NOW! I'd hang my head in shame if someone in my family turned rat fink, and his family's doing it on such a national level.
Damn, There's no honor in being a rat. He's a punk, pure and simple.

Ok maybe the direction came just before Hoover's death. Hard to believe a #2 in the FBI would go renegade without Hoover's approval (prior to his death?). Something just doesn't pass the smell test.
To: Mo1
Not listening. Saw the grandson earlier saying the same. Isn't this guy supposedly senile? And if so, how did the family find out. I got lots of questions!
