My Norman has passed away

Dear Friends, Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

With great sadness I tell you that my Norman has passed away.

The last time I requested prayer, I was sad because he didn't seem to know I was there with him.

The Lord is good. The next day we got to spend about an hour of lucid time together. It was wonderful!

We talked about our love, our family, and the peace he felt about going "home." We shared memories and I got to thank him for sharing his life with me.

We even joked together! I told him, "You promised me a dance and it looks like I'll have to wait until I get to heaven to have it. But if I get up there and catch you dancing with another woman, you'll be in big trouble, Mister!" He loved that! LOL

Then he went back to sleep. His last words to me were "home" and "I love you." I can't tell you how much I cherish them. They have helped sustain me thru this terrible week.

He passed away peacefully, with our family holding hands praying for him.

I need you to keep me in your prayers as I try to survive the weeks ahead. We're financially devastated and I don't earn enough to carry the daily bills much less the medical bills that are falling like snow. I get wobbly and nauseous when I even have to talk about it.

His lovingkindness and grace are keeping me. I praise Him for His love and strength.

I am so grateful for your love and prayers. They mean more than I can say.

May He bless you immeasureably for your gift of love toward me. Once again, I am indebted to the Body of Christ for their support and strength.

Heartfelt love,

Barb

It's been ten months for me...trust me, I know the feelings you are going through.

Something else tells me Norman will be waiting for that dance.

Have patience though...there are others still here that need you to wait for that waltz in Heaven.

God Bless.

OH yes , Oh yes, Our God will SUPPLY every need according to HIS RICHES in GLORY....I have held you up today in prayer. My dear neice, only 40 years old said good by to her hubby of 20 years. He died of cancer after a 3year battle, in Feb. My sister is recovering from a double mastectomy, and her granddaughter is going through the chemo and radiation right now, at the age of 24! Lots of pain and suffering in this world, but there is coming a day, WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY , when we will lay aside all this crud and ugliness and see our Savior, face to face, along with all of our family that have gone on before us.

Polly

I have lost my all my Grandparents and my father to date. I feel your pain and I hope you find the strength to see you through your time of sorrow. We miss the ones we loved in life, and we carry them in our hearts.

Their places in our lives remind us how lucky and thankful we were to have them. As I grow older I tend to reflect on what has happened in my life and try harder not to have regrets with the ones I love.

A friend of mine is married to a police officer and during one of our discussions we talked about how couples, family, etc. fight over silly thing not really worth the time put into the argument to begin with.

She told me that her and he husband never fight and I said how is that possible, and she said because his job is dangerous and each kiss goodbye in the morning could be that last and to think your last words may have been in anger is something you would regret for the rest of your life.

That hit me in the head like a hammer and it totally changed the way I act and how I appreciate each day of my life. Cherish the memories of those who have left us and make every day with those who remain filled with love and kindness.

My heart go out to you.

The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord cause His Light to shine upon you. The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Incline Thine ear, O Lord, unto our prayers, wherein we humbly implore Thy mercy upon the soul of Thy servant, whom Thou hast commanded to pass out of this world, that Thou mayest place him in the region of peace and light, in fellowship with Thy saints. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mary, Mother of God and Mother of mercy, pray for us and for all who have died in God’s embrace.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

And may the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.

Dearest Barb. I am praying for you and hope that FReepers can offer you some sound advice where you can apply for some assistance to help you get through this.

Maybe you know it already, but I found this:

Many people do not realize that widows and widowers can begin receiving Social Security benefits at age 60 (or age 50 if disabled) on the deceased spouse's account. If you are receiving widows/widowers (including divorced widows/widowers) benefits, you can switch to your own retirement benefits (assuming you are eligible and your retirement rate is higher than your widow/widower's rate) as early as age 62.

In many cases, a widow or widower can begin receiving one benefit at a reduced rate and then switch to the other benefit at an unreduced rate at age 65. Since the rules vary depending on the situation, talk to a Social Security representative about the options available to you.

YOUR FAMILY'S BENEFITS If you are receiving retirement benefits, some members of your family can also receive benefits.

Praying help is out there for you. sw
