On the Sean Hannity Program today there was serious discussion that former Congressman John Kasich could challenge Senator Mike DeWine in next year's Republican primary in Ohio. Besides being a former congressman Kasich is known as a fill-in host of Fox News Channel.
Is Kasich a TRUE conservative?
I've heard of the guy, don't know much about him.
I've never known a candidate to refuse help. I made phone calls for Pat Toomey in April of 2004 from Ohio. I used the caller ID blocker...lol.
The first thing we got to do is get him to run.
I'm becoming a memer of his site right this minute to urge him to run.
IIRC, at the time Kasich just had twins/triplets?..and he wanted to spend some time with the family and also to make some serious money..
From the ACU....
Representative John KASICH (R)
Ohio, District 12
2000 Score - 92
Previous Year's Score - 91
Lifetime Score - 88
Years of Service - 18
IIRC he was a great fiscal conservaitve and a driving force in balancing the budget in the mid 90's
Kasich/Blackwell '06!
Toss the old corrupted politicians in Ohio out. Time to clean up the House. I blame them for Ohio having to be hotly contested this last election. Voinovich, DeWine and taft must go.
Not to throw a wet blanket on the idea, but isn't Blackwell also facing a primary...and even if he isn't, do we want to tear the state party apart..My take on DeWine, FWIW, is that he may have been led down the garden path by McCain and Graham..but he hasn't been that bad...if he does the right thing, and votes for the nuclear option when it is triggered, he deserves to be re-elected Am I wrong?
Hes the third senator from New York
For the record - *not* a term of endearment when you're the junior senator from South Carolina. But that's exactly how Thomas Ravenel described Lindsay Graham yesterday. Consider it fallout from not only the judicial nomination compromise, but Graham's history of "going his own way" on several issues. (In fact, Ravenel went so far as to warn Graham to listen for footsteps before the compromise was even inked)
Ravenel, you might remember, was a candidate for the GOP nomination for the US Senate last year - only missing the runoff by a hair behind RS-endorsed Jim DeMint. And while I preferred DeMint, Ravenel is a conservative who went out with a lot of class. I hoped then that he'd run for something else - perhaps the House, or a gubernatorial bid. Let me revise that: I hope he runs for the Senate again. Very soon. We're not going to lose South Carolina
I live in his former district (12) and I'm on board.
Is Hannity beginning to realize there are a few RINOs that deserve to be slapped around?
He went after DeWine hard but I had the feeling he was pulling his punches on Lindsay Graham.
He also has his own weekend show, Heartland.

Yes, you are wrong.
The only way these republicans will get the message they cannot betray their constituents is if a few pay the price. DeWine's actions were unforgiveable. Even if he backtracked it would not be the result of principle. It would be to save his butt in '06. What happens after he wins a six year term? He'd feel free to be a maverick for six years with full knowledge we let him get away with it. this would embolden the others that would like to emulate his behavior to do so.
Just look at Voinovich to see what happens once a six year term is secured.
I just wrote to Kasich to urge him to run.
#614-785-1611 if anyone wants to call New Century project of which he is Chair to urge him to run. Please do!
It's hard to watch too much of, though, because Kasich kinda has that screamy voice like the bearded dude that shouts that Oxyclean commercial.
I've been promoting Ravenal all across the board. Plus Lafferty? against Chafee. Time to take them all out.
Correction-laffey.
Are you sure about that number? It sounds like a fax line? I've tried it three times.
