The Moos just need an excuse to start bouncing up and down in the streets, hollering some incomprehensible gibberish and shaking their fists in the air.
Same old, same old.

Goldman Sachs is salivating at the prospect of jacking oil prices based on an assumption of a rumor of an assumption that Saudi oil may be in jeopardy of free flow.
Leer and Swiss America say that we better buy gold futures, just in case.

maybe there is a written process to replace Abdullah and it is expected to get ugly?
It looks like a great time for a transition toward democracy.

we've got some mechanized divisions just to the north - maybe we should head south and "secure" the oil fields.

Isn't the sick guy currently just king in name only since his stroke? His brother has been running the place for the last view years.
If the head of the House of Saud had been in a coma for the last few years, his rule would have been respected. If the anti-Western part of the family had moved against him before the death, they could have been discredited.
Power goes like this: Father to brothers. Father to Uncles on his father's side. Father to sons of first wife. Father to sons of other wives (four wives are the Max) Father to illegitimate sons. Father to Grandsons of first wife's son's. Ect. Then brother to brother of first wife. And it goes on and on and on. And each relationship is defined by tradition.
What's happening now is a big deal.
The family on the "outs" says "in" males are immoral, decadent and western. They accuse the men of having three wives and leaving the 4th slot open for prostitutes - women they marry at midnight and divorce at 8AM. And there's more, but you get the idea. It's not pretty.
There's infighting, massive amounts of money and lots of power to fight over. And it's family. To understand think of a rich grandfather dying in this country without a will and 800 family members who are willing to fight to the death to get what they consider their share. I'm concerned.

Kim Philby's dear old dad, St. John Philby was instrumental in establishing the House of Saud. He even converted to Islam and married a Saudi girl.
