I agree!
I only would accept a helping hand ,if I really needed it and as soon as the need disappeared ,I would refuse any further help!
Maybe that is just me and I hope the need will never arise!
I have to go to work.
But let me say, there are an increasing number of people addicted to that helping hand -- both employees and employers. And it's a situation that can't be sustained forever.
