I burst out laughing with the Lott remark myself! Mr. spineless wouldn't even take Sen Nickles with him to budget negotiations with Clinton when he sold out. He was afraid Don Nickles would speak up -- he was right he would have.

My respect for Lott -- zero, zip, nada. He knew Jeffords was defecting and waited too long to tell the President. Not smart!
