I don't think they intend any disrespect Pomian. I am Polish myself and do not especially like them, just as I get tired of 'dumb blond' jokes.
We would be better off staying away from threads like this. As some said, if we posted jokes about Mexicans, Blacks or Jews we could possible get banned here.

Hero....Not in any stretch of the word...
What I am is lucky. I have met so many great and wonderful people in my life...and I've tried to record who they are...and pass the stories on.
I'm lucky....for I live in the Greatest Nation on Earth.....a Nation that produces hero's every generation....like Stan.
I'm just lucky...

When I saw the word "Polack" I stopped reading. Can you tell me, was it funny? If it was I will treat it as a mitigating circumstance.

"they had a crack outfit but everyone else had tanks. a little late there"
Only the Germans had the Panzer fist at that time. Had they attacked US in 1939, you'd be lying flat in a matter of three months ;)
And don't forget that Germans were using cavalry in 1939 too.
"when telling jokes the word is definitely Polack"
Is it? I didn't know that. I'm a Pole from motherland, so I'm allergic to the word "Pollack" in American mouth. You know, we all here have an inferiority complex. :)

Fortunately for the US the floating tank hadn't been invented yet.
