But now she's gonna have to vote yea or nay on Owen.

Yup. And all the words of "the Compromise Agreement" will be put into effect by (drum-roll please) ... THE VOTES!

The political play of "Senate Refuses to Vote on Nominees - by a Minority of its Members" is not over. We are in intermission.

Dems running in 2006 in red states..If she's gonna be confirmed, why hand your opponent a weapon..

An excellent point.

I'd love to see at least one of the three to pass by a significant margin.  That would make them a great candidate for SCOTUS and we can call attention to the D's duplicity if (when) they turn around and try to filibuster.

 it was probably sarcasm)

Hillie's been AWOL on a lot of subjects.

That's going to make a GREAT series of ads when she runs for President in 08.

Voiceover: "Here's what Hillary Clinton had to say about this important issue"

Onscreen: Picture of Hillary

Sound: Silence

I predict she passes with 52 votes.

At least 3 RINO's will stab us in the back again.

And FWIW, I think this is a horrible "deal" that got the good side damn little and the dark side a helluva lot. We'll be lucky to get 3 nominees confirmed at this point.

That's just ridiculous. How about backing that up with something? You'll get three in a worst-case scenario from this deal.

Yes, didn't you just love the actor telling us how wonderful McCain is as a person (even though he didn't know beans about him before he got the part)? And tomorrow McCain will be on Fox and Friends!

I am just beside myself with excitement.

She'll get 70 or 80 votes because, it's already been decided, and Senators always vote for risk reduction, rather than the issue at hand, when given a chance.

Of the two issues, the bases and the wine bit, why has she been ignoring the two NY base closings?

OK, fine. We'll get three, presumably. That's what we've been told by the new Senate Regency. Gee, do I feel warm and fuzzy now.

The others will be thrown under the bus and the President will now go to the 7 RAT members of the newly formed Senate cabal to get clearance for future nominations. (No need to ask the Pubs in the cabal, their function is only to ensure the Republican leadership remains powerless.)

So, again, just where is it that we get such wonderful things from all this? I'm all ears.

I don't think there's a snowball's chance the Dems will let her get more than 59 votes.

I agree. The 'Rats, unfortunately, aren't completely stupid (except for Box-O-Rox).
