WRONG ANSWER! Frist must keep everything as obscure as possible to keep these flakes under control. None of the Demodogs want to test this "filibuster" of judges again. They will be completely killed - and they are starting to realize that they have the rug completely torn out from under them.

Usually when they do that though they put quorum vote on the bottom of the screen. But they probably just didn't do it this time.

I'm a cynical guy. I've seen Pubbie caves all too often; both on the federal and state (Wisconsin) levels; mostly from Senators.

A historical diversion while you wait for the vote.
Tabling of a Nomination
In 1828, before the stricture of Rule XXII existed, there was a motion to table the nomination of one Alexander Macomb. The motion to table failed on a 18 - 19 vote (18 voted to table, 19 voted to not table), so the nomination was still before the Senate. The Senate proceeded to vote on the nominee, who was confirmed with a vote of 26 - 12.

That really is a beautiful contrast - Cheney vs. the lesser men. - Reminds me of the FR gal's club of Cheney groupies here a while ago - what did they call themselves again?

I haven't been watching the tv....... Has Sen. Frist indicated when the vote on Owen will occur? Since they invoked cloture do they have to use the allotted 30 hrs of debate or can they come to a vote with unamious consent at some point earlier?.... Has Sen. Frist given a timeline or agenda?
