LOL...I was responding to what you wrote: "Then, I hope they go to Janice Rogers Brown, especially since the Congressional Black Caucus stupidly has gone way overboard in protesting her nomination..."

I would love to see them stand with Sheets Byrd to protest Justice Brown! That would be Must See TV!

My niece and her husband live in Longmont---Boulder got too expensive for them---

I love the Pearl Street Mall--of course when I was growing up it wasn't there ---it was put in after I moved to Texas, but since I have a lot of family still there, we visit all of the time....

I lived on Baseline Rd....

Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-NC), Chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, issued the following statement on the judicial compromise:

"Although I am pleased that some of the President's qualified judicial nominees are finally getting the fair up or down vote they deserve, I am disappointed that not all nominees will be afforded that same courtesy. The understanding made by the group of fourteen made clear that judicial philosophy is not a legitimate reason to filibuster qualified judges. If Democrats should choose to continue their unprecedented use of the filibuster, we should immediately move to the constitutional option. Although I believe a vote on the constitutional option was certainly justified today, I am glad that it has not been taken off the table for future confirmation debates."

We have 55 senators, we need 51 to get rid of the stupid filibuster rule. Then we need 51 to get ALL of our people approved and seated. THEN, we need 51 votes to get a ProLife judge on the Supreme Court.

now - we cannot get ALL of our people approved and we CANNOT get a ProLife judge on the Supreme Court. Why, because the stupid Filibuster still exists.

Lots of downside

By the Way, did any one here note that BRit Hume reported that John Kerry signed his #180 form?

Yes, he supposedly signed it, but it hasn't been sent to the Navy yet, it is still on his desk since last Friday when he signed it....boy, is he having to save up for a postage stamp?

I agree .. there's a lot to be said for momentum and the the spirit of confidence you get from working as a team for a worthy goal, and being on the road to that victory.. that intangible esprit d'corps that comes from being the MAJORITY .. with inherent privileges and worthy efforts and achievements, won, and noted in the press. It's called ACTING LIKE WINNERS AND ENJOYING WHAT GOES WITH BEING THE WINNERS. Of course, McaintIGreat wouldn't know anything about that.

I give Frist no criticism .. he was double-crossed and betrayed by a gang of self-serving wimps .. the Rats, always happy to destroy anything of W's and the Pubs, some oldtimers, *skeered* of straining the "comity" of their collegial environment (mingling for drinks and socializing ya know) instead of upholding their sworn responsibilities of righteous protection of the Constitution and doing what's right. The other young Pubs are seduced by the vision of kanoodling with and endearing themselves to the future "President McVain" ... SUCKERS!

With the press as the willing accomplice to the Rats .. that alone already gives them positioning and status the Pubbies have to work twice as hard to get. Just watch how the Dims will be made to look like winners .. something the country rarely sees the REAL WINNERS GET CREDIT FOR....close, but foiled again.

The fact that this gangbang was unnecessary in the face of real progress on the issue makes it all the more frivolous, phoney and completely frustrating. It's all about McVain's grab for the spotlight .. assuring himself another round of weekend talkshows, lauded as the 'voice of reason and reconciliation,' and earning points among Dims and Dim-witted voters.

Karl Rove is busy sharpening his knives for McVain ..and the others, but McAintIGreat has a HUGE bullseye on his back. Rove will be engineering, orchestrating and calculating his schemes in spades .. count on it. I bet he and W were spitting nickels last night ... you just

watching Session, he is very good.

Yes he is. It was really something, coming off of the "buzz" of last night.

At the time, it was hard to tell whether or not the cloture vote would pass, etc. In hindsight, Sessions was laying groundwork for future action. Cloture for Owen was a GIVEN this morning, regardless.

Sessions puts on a great rant. I like him alot, for a Senator.
