Right. We all wanted to crush the Dems with the nuclear bomb but if we get what we want without it (and a few RINOs are happy) what's the problem?

Let's wait and see before we go nuclear on the Pubs. A few hours ago most of the folks here were bashing Frist, weren't they?

Accrding to the deal the RINO's signed which has no legal bearing but would be a bad PR move to break, as if what they did isn't already bad PR, they cannot bring it up in this session of Congress. But Frist and the 48 didn't sign this damn agreement. frist is the majority leader and he can bring it whenever he wants to if they try to filibuster.

Went to a wedding over the weekend and at the reception they had a chocolate fountain. You know, like a champagne fountain only it was a sheet of chocolate cascading down in a continuous sheet. You could stick strawberries, bananas, pretsels or marshmallows in there and swirl it around 'til it was thoroughly covered. It was pretty close to chocolate heaven.

As for this so-called compromise. I DON'T TRUST ANY OF THEM!!!

No, SOME people were bashing Frist. I never did, nor did at least half of the board.

Frist: "The Constitutional option is alive and well." Says he is absolutely committed to the principle of an up or down vote.

Disappointed in the agreement. He's not sure where Saad and Myers stand, or the less publicized ones Reid had earlier agreed to allow a vote on. Will test the Dems intentions in the days to come.

Concerned about what "extraordinary circumstances" means ... "like leaving a barn door open."

If Dems repeat their earlier filibuster tactics, he will call for the Constitutional option again.

All in all, pretty strong interview.

Your statement is true only if the 7 brave democrats were voting on principle with their party. If they had the same problems with their party as our "mavericks" have with ours, it is quite possible that they just broke off and gave us the working margin we need on a host of stuff, and on breaking filibusters.

Once you have been a maverick once, and have forced your leader to praise you for it, it is easier the next time around.

Ben Nelson seemed to be saying that a group of democrats was very upset with the filibuster, but didn't want to break with the party. If they have now done so, it makes the game different -- Reid can't threaten a filibuster if 7 of his guys don't go along with it.

Of course we "lost" the nuclear option (for now), but we didn't really HAVE it yet, and we needed it to break the filibuster which is broken for now anyway. We gave up something we weren't sure we had, to gain something we couldn't get otherwise.

Frist should bring up all the nominees one after the other and force the Dims and Rinos hands sonner rather than later so that when a SC nominee comes up this garbage will be settled.

The newbie has bit the dust.

Thank heavens. What a pompous, full of itself newbie it was. It almost sounded like a US Senator. It was quite getting on my nerves.

Direct quote from Frist:

"So make no mistake, the Constitutional Option remains on the table. If the minority again acts in bad faith--if they resume their campaign of mindless judicial obstruction--I will NOT hesitate to call it to a vote."

Perhaps Robert Byrd has learned to use the internet.

I just heard Frist say this on Hannity, yet if I understood what Rush was saying earlier the agreement says that the Constitutional Option CANNOT be used again for a year and half.

That's if the seven weasels live up to the MOU. If they do, and they vote against Frist on a Party control vote, then they will be toast for the next year-and-a-half. Remember, they haven't just riled up Frist, but 47 other Republican Senators.

My guess is Graham and DeWanker will melt under the Party pressure if push comes to shove. However, you never can tell with weasels.

Say, that's a godd name for the 14 Senators -- the NEW "Axis of Weasels".

ONLY the 7 Dwarfs signed that agreement ..

Frist and the other 48 Senators did not take part in that agreement

The Constitutional Option IS still on the table
