From what I am hearing you guys all say it sounds like he is trying to dig himself out of a hole, but just digging deeper in.
Kind of like when your husband or boyfriend says something stupid ("those pants make your butt look huge!") and in an attempt to explain themselves and they just end up in a deeper heap of trouble then if they had just apologized and tried to make amends.

Lindsey Graham is Blanche Dubois. An aging political w**re who decided to bed down last night with McCain. He was used for the moment to further his JOHN's desires. Me too. I was folding laundry at the time, but what I heard Graham say was: Owen/Brown/Pryor will be voted affirmatively; Saad/Myers will get to a floor vote but he can't call the outcome; the other 2 will not get to the floor because of serious illegalities in their records. If I have that wrong, someone please correct. To me that sounds like a deal. Oh yeah, he also said Bolton will be confirmed.

We still have the same ability today that we did yesterday.
A lot of people who had reservations about voting for Bush again were persuaded because they realised the importance of judicial nominees to the well being of the Republic and they were given guarantees that principled people would be voted to the bench.
