Dems win because the Democrats can still & WILL filibuster President Bush's Supreme Court nominees.

And Leader Frist can and will roll out the Constitutional Option once again.

Though the histrionics posted here are fun to watch, we should allow a measure of common sense to prevail:

- We get our judges confirmed

- The Democrats will have much trouble blocking nominees for being "too conservative" when the three most conservative judges were voted through by them

- The Consititutional Option is still alive for future filibusters, whereas a no vote by these RINOs could have created precedent preventing its use in the future.

Let us not grasp defeat from the jaws of victory. Only the MoveOn types lost in this deal.

Bleh... those who say 'no big deal'... PLEASE EXPLAIN.

This is the same damn deal Dingy Harry and KKK Byrd offered a while ago.

The "we promise not to 'buster, excpet in "extrmeme" circumstances" promise is worth 2 steaming piles of sheiite.

Look at how "extrmeme" Bolton was protreyd... look at how "extrmeme" Bush is portreyed... look how "extrmeme" Chaney is... look how "Extrmeme" Halliburton is... look how "extrmeme" Rumsfeld is... look how "extreme" Ownes and Pryor and Brown WERE (up until they conceded that they really aren't bad enough to keep out).

I fart in the GOP's general direction.

You have three judges confirmed; if they had gone through with the constitutional option they would have had most of them confirmed. They gave it up and received nothing in return. The Republican Party is just another branch of the Democratic party; they are too busy kissing each other A..es to bother with their constituency.

You are absolutely wrong. You need momentum to deliver the nuclear option. The momentum will not come over and over again. This was Frist's chance and he blew it. It effectively passes control of the Senate to the Dems and McCain. Frist blinked and lost. He won't have the momentum again.

Wrong

Read the agreement again. The RINOs in this gang just vowed never to block any philibuster by this Senate.

We lose. end of story
