By spinning this as failure we are allowing the opposition to frame what the decision says.

I'm beginning to wonder if casting the nuclear trigger as being in GOP hands wasn't a deliberate setup, to permit the DEMs to save face while losing their asses. Plus, the GOP squishess are going to get an earful. Good chess, if somebody was looking that many moves ahead.

Please, you overestimate the intellegence of the Republicans and those running the so-called republican "Party".

I'm going to bed, I still think we got the result we wanted tonight and we didn't have to take the media hit (yet) for changing the Rules. And the moderate Dems agreed that filibusters are not right. WIN-WIN.

We agreed to not stop the Dems from filibustering as long as they don't filibuster.

I just spent a few minutes on DU, they are apoplectic and are deserting the Dems in droves. It looks very familiar! What an eye-opening experience to see both opposite sides both so out of joint by the same news. Its as though a football game was played and both sets of fans are pissed at the end. I think we won, not a final victory yet, but a good move in the right direction.

Good night all.
