By the way, to all of you who vote for anybody with an 'R' next to their name regardless of ideology, thanks one Hell of a lot.

You're our of your mind if you want Hillary within 20 miles of the White House. McCain has NO chance of being elected anyway - but why would you go for a raving leftist, will have a raving leftist for Veep, and who will appoint raving leftists to everything? Even if it were McCain, there'd be some better people appointed under him.

That said, he's an ***hole and I think his latest treachery has permanently disqualified him (unless he runs as a Dem).

Why is everyone so hysterical? It was just a way for Dems to save face. You're right...the Republicans definitely got the better end of this deal. I wish everyone here would stop their knee-jerk reactions.

McCain thinks he can end around Frist? He's done.

Didn't you hear he's got Sen Frist's/the leadership's approval? I'm hoping this is a huge McCain blunder. We need to hear from Frist. I, at least, want to hear we're back to square one and can still nuke 'em.

It has nothing to do with short-termers and the Bush Administration.
These are lifers who work with each other day in, day out, year in, year out. They are declaring war on the "outsiders" - the Administration.

We need to turn over Congress every term.

Well said.

Last election cycle, I didn't give money to the Nat. Repub. Senatorial Committee (NRSC) because I feared that some would go to Arlen Spector. Instead, I gave to 9 GOP Senate candidates and was thrilled that 7 of them won.

Although we need to hear what the deal is before condemning it, it's hard to believe that the deal is good considering that Senator John Warner (RINO-VA) is backing it. After Warner voted against confirming Judge Bork, I've only voted for Warner once when it was a close race. Other times, I voted for the Const. Party or Libertarian Party Senate candidate.

People should strongly back the good Republicans and just not back the other GOPers except when absolutely needed to avoid a Dem winning.

Crudfaced weasels can filibuster under 'extraordinary' circumstances if a Senatwhore thinks a judge is extreme... sick, sick, sick people..McCain is yukking it up with is fellow traitors... This will PREVENT any other conservative judges, Like Saad and the other one from being confirmed.."outside the mainstream"...we have LET THE DEMONRATS take over AGAIN!!!

Not a chance. This deal couldn't have been made without at least the knowledge of the White House.

The only reason Grand Kleagle Robert "Sheets" Byrd can recount the minutiae of the Tyler administration with such clarity is because that was the last time he had a moment of lucidity.

I have absolutely no idea why everone in here is going nuts....we lost nothing and gained a up or down on three.

I think people are going nuts, including myself, is because all year long we've heard, "we are going to have up or down votes, judges shouldn't be filibustered, yada yada yada. Then when the opportunity presents itself to end the charade the rinos take over the party, make a deal without the so called leader and we haven't gotten anywhere. Just chasing our tails.

Their talks have mostly been in the offices of Sen. John McCain, an Arizona Republican.

They include two of the longest-serving senators, whose presence lends the group great stature in the Senate: Robert C. Byrd, a West Virginia Democrat, elected in 1958, and John Warner, a Virginia Republican elected in 1978. There's also a freshman, Ken Salazar, a Colorado Democrat.

Other Republicans include Maine's two moderates, Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe; Mike DeWine of Ohio, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island.

Among the Democrats are Ben Nelson of Nebraska, Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Kent Conrad of North Dakota.

"Whether you like it or not McKain leads.
Agreed. Which is why I'd rather see Hillary win over him. McStain is more dangerous."

Hillary is worse.... but a question of degree of evil

McPain is a nutjob and an egomaniac. This does nothing to advance his chances for '08 ( not that he had much of a chance anyway.)
