This so-called compromise, takes the nuclear option off the table for two years. Do you REALLY think that Friszt has the spine to try it anyway...with the RINO gang of 7 waving this compromise in front of cameras ?
To: Fledermaus
Am I whistling dixie or does NO ONE else understand a Democrats "word" is as worthless as confederate money?A RINO or Democrats word is worthless whether it is this meaningless agreement or whether it's an up-or-down vote.
To: FreeReign
Frist always said he would negotiate but an up or down vote would have to occur.
My bet is we will see that vote on each nominee. Some may lose. But that was never the point. If they do lose we can make those traitors lives miserable.

As I read this at the moment ...a pretty good victory in a battle but the war is not over as it could have been

Two weeks ago I moved my stuff from Ohio to VA. I still have many contacts in Ohio & have been advising them for awhile now regarding the rino senators. I have also discussed Blackwell with them and will continue to do so.
Meanwhile, daWhiner is up in '06. Is there a challenger for him yet?

Have a good night. And no, I don't think they'll be pissed.
Especially McCain. Why? McCain-Feingold. If he really cared about the country and the constitution that would never have happened.
Regards

(Nothing in this RINO deal guarantees Brown, Owen and Pryor will be CONFIRMED!)
To: nopardons
I said from the very beginning that I am speculating, but my speculations were reasonable. First you stated that no way the President is involved in this without stating why. You have given no reason to indicate why my conjecture isn't plausible. Instead you call me names. I think you are a DUmmie in disguise, and not very good at that either. Go back to your cage and take your medication first.
To: FreeReign; AndrewC
Of course the Dim's word means nothing but there were also seven RINO's and their word sometimes means something.
I believe the Dims have seen the light that they were going to lose this battle if they continued fighting it. This way they can claim a false victory.

Frist to McCain:Vote correctly or I'll make your life hell.
McCain to Frist:Why should I. My constituents like me, the press loves me
Frist closes his military bases and that angers the military communities. Frist increases the Border Patrol and that angers the Latinos which call the press and life becomes a living hell.

Geez...how did this person ever graduate from kindergarten.

Amazing the number of folks here who don't get it and who trust democrats. It's amazing the number of people here who trust democrats more in an up-or-down vote than they trust them in this agreement.
To: ImphClinton
My take:
Absolute disaster? No.
Grand victory? No.
Looks like at least Saad and Myers get thrown under the bus.
For weeks we have been saying there must be an up or down vote on every nominee. There will not be.
If for no other reason than the morale and energy of the base, we needed a decisive win, not a I-think-we-won-but-I'm-not-really-sure deal like this.
To: AndrewC
That is easy, filibuster a judicial nominee. When filibuster = using parliamentary shenanigans to avoid taking the vote, I agree.
But today, the DEMs agreed to take the vote. The trigger disappeared.

It's amazing the number of people here who trust democrats more in an up-or-down vote than they trust them in this agreement.Trusting Democrats to do anything for the good of this nation, is an amazing premise.

Actually, the thought has also crossed my mind about being from DU. There's a reason for why she angrily wheezes on everyone -- she has it posted on her page.

I did NOT attack the White House nor it's inhabitant.
There are some very valid reasons for my attacks on Frist and deserved them and more. He's a gutless wonder, a bloviator, and one of THE worst Majority Leaders in the history of that position.
How long have we heard that he was going to pull of the so-called nuclear option? Why couldn't he managed to get the GOPers to have an up or down vote on every single judicial nominee? Why did the Estrada nomination languish so long, that he withdrew?THIS IS NOT "LEADERSHIP" and neither is NOT reigning in McQueeg.
To: Oliver Optic
For weeks we have been saying there must be an up or down vote on every nominee. There will not be.Right. Just three. We don't even know if the Democrats will even live up to that end of the deal, because Democrats HAVE NOT and WILL NOT and CAN NOT be trusted to do what's RIGHT. They've always done everything possible to ensure their own defeat, so given that, you know they will not hold up their end of the bargain. All is not lost. This setback may end up just being temporary.

There's not a dimes worth of difference between this battle and an up-or-down vote.
If there is no difference then lets go with the one that offers the most profit. We have a chance to win them all with the constitutional option. Heck the filibuster has never been used for anything good, why keep it around anyway?
