CBS head Leslie Moonves declared this week: "I think talking to ghosts will skew younger than talking to God."
Moonves made the starling comments during a breakfast with reporters where he announced his new fall schedule.
"The Ghost Whisperer," a supernatural drama about a woman who communicates with the spirit world, will replace "Joan of Arcadia," which features a young woman who speaks to God.
"They called us the geezer network," Moonves explained.

JLo, Jennifer
Love Hewitt! Oh, yeah, spirits
are stirring right now . . .
LOL. I wonder if she'll have a nosy mom and wacky neighbor.
I read a article the other day that summarized the new line-ups for the big three networks. Could not stop laughing at how crappy and derivative the shows sounded. And these were the ones that got picked up.
I knew from the previews from Joan of Arcadia the season it premiered the show would not last long. How many different ways can she talk to God? I'm glad the show is gone. The actress who played Joan was the biggest brat on General Hospital.
Funniest line in a long time. Could make a good commercial.
oh much worse, much worse. The problem with the show was that God was portrayed to be some type of relavist God where anything goes. So I am not attacking the show, don't really care, just stating it's nothing to defend or lose sleep over for being replaced.
a real moonbat.
Better some viewers than none.
For those, like me, who are curious, from this link an etymology of the word moonbat :)
They are cancelling Joan of Arcadia?
That seems to be a pretty popular show among young people.
What are those morons doing up there?
It definitely is. I watched it sometimes for the hot actress, but that is about it.
There is a difference between communicating with angels/ praying to God and summoning the dead.
That latter is forbidden. The first two are legit.
As for Joan, she thought she was receiving revelation, but she wasn't.
She was wrong. I find her an admirable figure, but she did not receive special revelation from any angel. That is not Biblical for this age.
I don't watch Judging Amy. Boring.
But, maybe twice every two months I will check out Joan of Arcadia to see the girl that plays Joan. CBS needs to put more hot girls on their shows and maybe they will get more of us young guys to watch...
Hence Jennifer Love Hewitt, I guess. I'm not too sure about this niche strategy the nets have going. Audiences have gotten so fickle. I wonder if they wouldn't be better off going for a more general audience, like I Love Lucy got. But that's not where the bucks are I guess. My boob tube's a big dust collector. We've got a nice big flat screen and pay for cable, then we don't watch the darn thing. Sigh.
What do you mean by this? According to her own testimony, she received constant guidance from St. Michael, St. Beatrice and St. Margaret.
Correct. Remember how King Saul, after falling out of God's favor following his usurping of Samuel's authority as High Priest and the Amalekite incident, contacted the witch of En-dor to contact "Samuel." That was a no-no.
Yipes...what a frightening look creature. Wow. :)

That was a no-no.Well now this is a great story. However, Samuel was angry, not because Saul had summoned him from the dead, but because, to paraphrase, "Since the Lord is angry and won't answer, what makes you think I will?"
1 SAMUEL 2815Then Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" Saul answered, "I am in great distress, for the Philistines are warring against me, and God has turned away from me and answers me no more, either by prophets or by dreams. Therefore I have summoned you to tell me what I shall do." 16And Samuel said, "Why then do you ask me, since the LORD has turned from you and become your enemy?
